This includes the "framed" Tatsumura Textile Brocade piece, Kobukusa cloth of Dai- meibutsugire (specialty cloth) pattern titled Coptic Textile "Tiger." The original design of the striped table runner pattern is in storage at the Shoso-in repository. Style originates in the 8th century, made with the highest technique of dyeing and weaving. Its was created in one of Japan's six remaining kilns from medieval Japan. Bizen clay has a high iron content and contains organic matter that is unreceptive to glazing. Bizen ceramics are identified by its iron-like hardness, reddish brown color. It has been cherished by tea ceremony masters since the end of the Muromachi Era. This vase comes in its original signed wooden box.
