Japanese Business Establishments in India November, 2012 Embassy of Japan in India About this list The Embassy of Japan in New Delhi and Consulates General of Japan in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, and The Consulate of Japan in Bangalore, have respectively collated information based on our research every year as well as information provided by the various regional Japanese Chambers of Commerce in India, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in India, and others. Our findings from this year's survey (as of Oct 1st, 2012) are as follows; (1)A total of 1804 establishments of Japanese business being operated in India, which is an of 382 establishments (26.8%) increase over the last year. (Please note that in case a company has business operations at multiple sites, each of them has a separate entry in this list. Please also see "criteria" provided below.) (2) 926 Japanese companies registered in India (in terms of the name of company registered in India) were observed to operate in India, which is an increase of 114 companies (14.0% ) over the last year. The growth rate of the Japanese companies newly entering India is as high as average years, and what is more remarkable is that the growth rates of its establishments are at a much higher level, which indicates that the Japanese companies which have already entered India are steadlily expanding thier business in India.
