Limited places. DAY 1 JOHANNESBURG Today is arrival day in Johannesburg. We overnight at 1 of 4 hotels in the Emperors Palace just a few minutes from the airport. DAY 2 JOHANNESBURG TO KHAMA RHINO SANCTUARY BOTSWANA DISTANCE 622KM Cross the border into Botswana and drive as far as the Khama Rhino Sanctuary – a community run project aimed at re@introducing rhinos into the wild. KRS is actually a small game reserve and is situated around a pan. Photographic opportunities can be very good, and apart from rhinos the sanctuary is home to a good variety of wildlife. DAY 3 KHAMA RHINO SANCTUARY TO CENTRAL KALAHARI DISTANCE 396KM The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is one of the world’s largest, at nearly 53,000km2. The feeling of space and sheer freedom is magical – a true wilderness experience. Animals such as , hartebeest and are com@ mon, and predators are frequently seen – your best chance of seeing cheetah is here. Spend two nights camping in the Sunday Pan area. DAY 4 CENTRAL KALAHARI Self@drive game viewing in the Central Kalahari DAY 5 CENTRAL KALAHARI TO MAUN DISTANCE 226KM Drive to Maun, Botswana’s main tourist centre. DAY 9 KHWAI MOREMI GAME RESERVE TO SAVUTI DISTANCE 96KM Travel to the , spending the next two nights at the famous Savuti campsite. Savuti is famous for its elephants, lions and hyenas, all of which visit the campsite area, making for an experience not to be forgotten! Listening to the night sounds from the safety of your rooftop tent is an unforgettable experience. Savuti has a good network of roads for game drives.
