The 21-year-old had been with The Clarets from a young age, but only had experience on loan at Lancaster City where he made one appearance in 2018. After finding out his Burnley contract wasn’t going to be renewed he spent time with Mansfield and was convinced that the Midlands would be a good next step for him.

It’s the outcome end of the season and by the time the last of these columns is written we will probably know more or less who is going up, the teams going down, and what clubs could be joining the fourth tier next season. Obviously a lot can change but with four, or three, games remaining here is the picture...

The League Two title is still in Cheltenham Town’s and Cambridge, and they host in-form Port Vale hands, despite Michael Duff’s side currently too so it’s a big ask, and similarly to Southend if occupying second to Cambridge United. They Scunthorpe, Colchester and Barrow win then Town have three home games in the final four, with could also be all-but relegated regardless of their the all-important game in hand against Carlisle result today. The Latics and The Dons are both on spot. The Shrimps will fancy the look of their run-in four-game winning runs so it isn’t looking promising compared to the others but their make and break is for the two South-West teams. Local neighbours Bolton today. TODAY’S OTHER FIXTURES TWO TO WATCH

Cambridge United vs Stevenage Exeter City vs Newport County

Carlisle United vs Harrogate Town The two sides above us in the table go head to Cheltenham Town vs Colchester United head this afternoon and depending on results it could enhance or all-but end play-off aspirations. Crawley Town vs Forest Green Rovers Newport are without a win in three away but if they Exeter City vs Newport County can return to Wales with three points they would Morecambe vs Bolton Wanderers be six clear of Exeter. A home win or a draw would leave it wide open for the midweek games though. Oldham Athletic vs Grimsby Town Port Vale vs Bradford City Southend United vs Leyton Orient

Salford City vs Mansfield Town A pivotal game really in Southend’s history which Scunthorpe United vs Walsall if they don’t win will end their 100-year stay in the Southend United vs Leyton Orient Football League. Orient recently experienced life in the National League, but a win today keeps their Tranmere Rovers vs Barrow slight opportunity of reaching the play-offs alive.
