This contract is entered into by: ________________________________ (“the Player”) AND the Geelong Netball Club (“the Club”). The Player shall play for the Club for the following playing season__________________________ The Player agrees to play with the Club in accordance with the following terms and conditions:- PLAYER OBLIGATIONS: 1.1 Obey all reasonable directions of the Coaching Group, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Cougars Coordinator and President of the Club. 1.2 Attend all training sessions and team meetings of the Club as directed. 1.3 Play in all netball matches in which she is selected to play or as otherwise directed by the Club unless a duly qualified Medical Practitioner rules her unfit to play. 1.4 Not play or train for netball and/or another sporting code with any other club or team (save for an ANL team or state representative netball team) without first obtaining the consent in writing of the Club. 1.5 Acknowledge that VNL will take priority over all local netball and/or other sporting commitments. An attempt will always be made to accommodate participation in local sport for the benefit of the individual player and their club. However there will be circumstances such as, but not limited to, finals or load management, when you will be required to modify or exclude yourself from local sporting commitments as directed by the Coach and/or S&C Coach. 1.6 Comply with all reasonable requirements of the Club relating to preparation for matches, including but not limited to management of total game time and training in both higher and lower competitions. 1.7 Do everything reasonably necessary to obtain and maintain the best possible physical condition so as to render the most efficient service to the Club. 1.8 Not engage in any activity which in the opinion of the Club may affect the Player's ability to perform her obligations under this Contract without first obtaining the consent in writing of the Club. 1.9 Not comment on a matter which the club has notified the Player is a matter upon which the Players of the Club are not to comment publicly. 1.10 Comply with all reasonable requirements of the Club relating to fundraising, community and promotional activities. 1.11 In the event any incident or concern the Player may have requires a response or resolution she must provide a request in writing to or by conversation with the President of the Geelong Netball within 14 days following the incident or concern. Incidents or concerns raised outside this period will be considered in conjunction with the Rules and Regulations noted under 2.1 of this agreement. PLAYER BOUND TO RULES: 2.1 The Player hereby agrees with the Club that she is bound by: - (a) the Rules and Regulations of the Club; (b) the Rules and Regulations of the Victorian Netball League (including requirements of players and clubs regarding registration); and (c) the Rules and Regulations of the Netball Victoria. 2.2 In the event of a Player being under 18yrs of age, the Parents of such Player must abide by: (a) the Rules and Regulations of the Club; (b) the Rules and Regulations of the Netball Victoria. 2.3 Players must abide by the Players Code of Conduct attached to this agreement. Players acknowledge by signing this agreement that they have read and understood this Players Code of Conduct. 2.4 In the case of a player being under 18yrs of age - Parents must abide by the Parents Code of Conduct attached to this agreement. Parents acknowledge by signing this agreement that they have read and understood this Parents Code of Conduct TERMINATION: This Contract may be terminated by: 3.1 The Club if the Player is in breach of any of her obligations hereunder and the breach continues for a period of 14 days after notice in writing by the Club to the Player requiring the breach to be remedied. 3.2 The Player if the Club is in breach of any of its obligations hereunder and the breach continues for a period of 14 days after notice in writing by the Player to the Club requiring the breach to be remedied. DISPUTE: 4.1 In the event of a dispute arising between the parties during the term of this Contract or following the termination hereof, the matter may be referred for determination to the nominated Grievance Officer of the Club. 4.2 A request for determination by an aggrieved party shall be made in writing to the other party and shall contain a precise statement of the issue in dispute and all relevant facts giving rise to the dispute. The Grievance Officer may adjudicate upon any dispute in accordance with the Club rules in force at the time. 4.3 At any stage, any party concerned may seek resolution with Netball Victoria or in accordance with the Act or Law. You should note however that there will be an expectation by most complaint services that you have in the first instance followed a Club Grievance procedure prior to approaching them. Any member can designate an advocate within the Club to support their grievance/concern should they wish to receive assistance in the resolution of the complaint. The Club and Player acknowledge that this contract has been entered into in good faith. The contract shall only be valid, when the player becomes registered with the club.
