Trials for the 2014 Season

Trials for the 2014 season will be held by the 10 VNL clubs from Sunday 25th August and Monday 21st October.

Players/Parents should be aware of the following procedures with regard to trialling;

VNL Club trials will be held from Sunday 25th August 2013 and Monday 21st October 2013. Please refer to www.vnl.com.au or the individual club websites for further information.

No player is to be “signed” to a club during this period. Players are encouraged to trial at other clubs during this time to maximise their chances of being selected in a VNL team. There should be no pressure from clubs for players to commit to a Club during the trials period. Once all club trials are finished, Clubs can offer places in teams. No players are to be signed before 1 November 2013. The 2014 VNL player registration form will be made available on the VNL website on 1 November 2013.

Please note: Any player that is pressured or feels uncomfortable during the trials process should contact the Senior Competitions Coordinator – VNL at Netball on 9321 2211.

Players should also be aware of the following VNL Competition Regulations;

VICTORIAN NETBALL LEAGUE PLAYER FORM

A player must complete a VNLPF prior to playing their first Competition match for the season.

A player’s signature on the VNLPF shall confirm that the player:

(a) Agrees to be registered for the 2014 competition with the nominated Licensee. (b) Understands they can only register with one VNL Licensee for 2014. (c) Understands that they are registered with the named Licensee from the time they sign and date the VNLPF. (d) Agrees to notify in writing providing full details of circumstances, which may require a player after registering with a VNL Licensee to request to play for another VNL Licensee. Such a move would be subject to the approval of Netball Victoria. (e) Agrees to comply with any other requirements set out in the VNLPF.

CLEARANCES

Players are permitted to seek a clearance if they signed a 2013 VNLPF and are looking to change Clubs for the 2014 season, providing that they have not signed a 2014 VNLPF.

Once a player has signed a 2014 VNLPF they are only permitted to change Licensees as a result of extenuating circumstances and at the discretion of Netball Victoria.
