When the time came to look for property, there was a vacant lot on Holly and Cedar. The committee made contact with the land owner, who informed them that her grandfather would be very proud to know that a “Jewish Synagogue” would be built on his property. EDOS has since served continuously as a hallmark of Orthodox Judaism for our Community. Our Shul is noted for its daily Minyanim, Shiurim, including its long running Daf Yomi program. Our Shul is instrumental in the creation and continuance of the Eruv, Bikur Cholim, Chevra Kadisha, Rose Hill Cemetery, all three Day Schools, and other important organizations. Our members are also active in many Chesed projects within the Denver Community and the Jewish community at large. For example, the book of Daniel, when - וּמַצ ִ ְדּ ֵ יקי הָר ִ ַבּים כּכּוֹכ ִ ָבים ְ לעוֹלָם וָעֶד ,discussing the end of days, comments and they that turn the many to righteousness as the stars forever and כל המזכה את הרבים אין חטא states פרקי אבות ever. Similarly, the Mishna in Anyone who brings merit to the many, sin does not result - בא על ידו from him. These are examples of the beneits afforded to the individuals who devote their time to public service. בבא מציעא דף פה‘) While this is a very high level to achieve, the Talmud tells us that there is a higher level of the person who teaches (עמוד א Torah to others. This person not only acquires the right to sit in the heavenly study hall, but they also have the ability to reverse negative decrees. Tonight, we gather to honor those who have earned the title of communal teachers of Torah. While we have a deep appreciation to all of those who dedicate their time and efforts to the community, it is appro- priate that we focus on those who provide the highest service to to our community - those who share with us their Torah knowledge. For the past 55 years, EDOS has distinguished itself as a Shul that emphasizes the primary importance of consistent, well attended Minyanim and regular Torah learning. Without the dedication of tonight’s honorees, this would not be possible. Therefore, on behalf of the EDOS community, I would like to thank the honorees and bless them with years of good health to continue to serve .כלל ישראל our community and the entire DearMe Friends: age from the Presiden For the past 55 years, EDOS has played a leading role on the center stage of Jewish life in Denver. From its humble beginning in 1962, with only 13 members, EDOS has grown to be the premier centrist orthodox Synagogue on the East Side of Denver. For all these years, our Shul has continued to provide uninterrupted and well attended daily, Shabbos, and Yom Tov Minyanim. Our daily Shuirim, Daf Yomi class, the annual Summer Kollel, Shabbatonim, Scholar in Residence weekends, and other programs, are a continued source of pride to our members. Our Shul has also promoted and encouraged the mem- bers to be involved in Chesed and Community work. The theme of this year’s dinner is, the learning, teaching, and dissem- inating of Torah. For many years now, EDOS has been more than just a Shul. Through our many daily and weekly Shiurim, guest speakers, Scholars in Residence, Summer Kollel, etc, we have become a beacon
