Mr. Ivy is in his 16th year as a resident of , Nevada. A product of Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri, respectively, Ivy understands the value of hard work and ethical business dealings. As his father would say, “I raised you to be smart and intelligent, while being a gentleman.” Raised in a Christian home, Ivy’s faith in Christ and the leadership taught to him by his family and later, the U.S. Air Force, gives him the backbone and fortitude to tackle racism, classism, sexual orientation discrimination and fair play for all, with class and dignity. Ivy’s ability to speak with individuals as well as the masses was taught to him at an early age. He honed his skills in High School and College. He became Lindenwood University’s first African-American Vice President of Student Relations and later interned at the St. Louis Urban League, working on voter registration and The Poor People’s Agenda. Ivy went on to become a sales executive at AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Embarq/Century Link. In 2009 Ivy formed his own public relations and political consulting firm called Ivy’s Communications Group. In 2020 he was asked to become the pastor of Kinship Community Church. Now that you have a sense of my background and who I am, let me tell you why I am running for the 2nd Vice Chair position. 1. I believe in the fundamental power of change through conversation and listening. I believe that when you listen, that your ears open and your mouth is closed (as my teachers and professors taught me). Therefore allowing me to take in more information and make qualified decisions that will affect us all. 2. I believe that the agenda of this state and party should represent all people and not just those with big wallets and personal agendas. 3. I will not allow influences to guide me sense of right and wrong. I believe that you can agree to disagree and still be able to sit at a table together in unity. 4. Finally, I want to see and ensure that the entire racial make up of the Nevada Dems reflect all races, creeds and sexual orientation. I have served on a few boards and made a few good friends and I want to see the Democratic agenda fulfilled for us ALL. I am asking for your vote as 2nd Vice-Chair for the Nevada Democratic Party. Thank you for your confidence in my leadership!! [email protected] 5710 E. Tropicana Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89122 702-592-0752 This message produced and distributed by Marlin J.
