Among the highlights of the winter/spring 2004 season included Programming & Training 6 student produced programs including the annual Lawrence Winter Blast, Elementary Locally Produced Specials 7 Schools Track Meet, Falmouth Schools Science Fair and Class of 2007 Freshman Locally Produced Series 9 Class Show. Student videographers were also featured in The Nigel Files, Morse Pond Follies, FHS Graduation, first-time Programming Numbers 11 coverage of FHS Senior Follies and last summer’s Falmouth YC Regatta and Classic Training & Classes Numbers 12 Wheels. Production of the new TV-14 series Story- Maser Gallery & SeniorNet 13 Time, featuring the works of local children’s authors, began in late May and premiered with enthusiastic response the first week of September. Program hosts/readers thus far have included Membership 14 Mullen-Hall’s Maggi Yates, and East Falmouth’s Marsha Zafiriou and Kathy Botellho. All-new faculty co-produced episodes of Animation Alive and Book and Author were also among the fall 2004 Schedule, as were Dr. Hinkle’s Physics at Falmouth, an all-new Best Friends, System-Wide Family Supporters 17 Math & Science Nights, and complete holiday event coverage (10 programs in all!) Capping it all off was the first time live and student directed broadcast of FHS Holiday Concert. A gray curtain in Studio A gave productions a Chuck & Caroline Bacon new updated look, computer editing was expanded with the addition of two Apple G5 computers and we began the process of changing playback from tape based to a digital hard drive based system. Encoding equipment was purchased so that our producers could save their programs as files which could be cablecast. Falmouth Community TV page 3 Letter from E.D. continued... supporters & underwriters In other 2004 highlights, we implemented a Summer Lecture series featuring professionals in the Town Meeting Underwriters field of television. The program kicked off with Air Force News Tsgt. Bill Scherer and former WBZ producer and host Barbara Brilliant. FCTV was recognized regionally and nationally when Frank and Principal Underwriters Falmouth Taxi Hannoush Jewelers Jason won first place in the Northeast Region Video Festival for their Public Service Announcement on Cavossa Excavating Cape Cod Five Cent Savings Bank Law Office of B. Grant Willis community television and Kevin King was awarded first place for his documentary on drinking water Cape Cod Printing Law Office of Jeffrey Oppenheim in Falmouth. Cape.Com, Inc.
