NATIONAL TEAM PLAYERS

U.S. STANDOUTS Current Bruins Lauren Cheney and Danesha Adams have both played with the Full U.S. Women’s National Team. Most recently, Cheney helped the U.S. Under-20s to a silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lauren Wilmoth, Lauren Barnes and Kylie Wright were also members of the Jillian Ellis-coached Pan American team. Adams was also in action this summer, joining Christina DiMartino in helping the U.S. Under-21 National Team to a fi rst-place fi nish at the 2007 Nordic Cup in Vaasa, Finland.

INTERNATIONAL BRUINS Former standout Iris Mora (Mexico) and current Bruin Kara Lang (Canada) have represented their countries at the highest level. Mora has played in such events as the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, two Women’s World Cups (1999 & 2003), and the 1999 Pan American Games. At 15, Iris Mora Nandi Pryce Lang became the youngest player in her country’s history to play for the Full National Team. She played in the 2003 Women’s World Cup and will represent Canada again at the 2007 World Cup in China .

ACOSTA ATHLETIC TRAINING COMPLEX NORTH ATHLETIC FIELD The two-story Acosta Athletic Complex serves a variety of needs for UCLA’s highly competitive intercol- In order to preserve the surface at Frank W. Marshall Field, both the UCLA men’s and women’s soccer legiate athletics program. The Center, which was remodeled in 2006, features UCLA’s Athletic Training teams do much of their training at the North Athletic Field, located right behind the John Wooden Athletic and Rehabilitation Room, a Speed-Strength & Conditioning Room, Varsity Locker rooms, and The Bud Center. Prior to moving to Drake Stadium in 2000, the women played matches at the North Athletic Field Knapp Football Center.
