CPHEEO Central Public Health Engineering and Environment Organization Page 3 of 206 UDAIPUR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, UDAIPUR FOREWORD The Detail Project Report for Comprehensive Sewerage Scheme including Septage Management at Udaipur (Udaipur District, Rajasthan) under AMRUT GoI Scheme had been prepared by Udaipur Municipal Corporation. In line with comprehensive DPR, AMRUT Phase-I was approved for amount Rs. 85 Crores and for which tendering has been done by Municipal Corporation Udaipur, sewerage works under AMRUT Phase-II, Wall city area under Smart City ABD area and construction of STPs work proposed on Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) are envisaged in the Phase II project of Udaipur sewerage project. The STP has been proposed on Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). The Udaipur Municipal Corporation hereby consents to give his share of the project cost. Commissioner Udaipur Municipal Corporation Udaipur Page 4 of 206 Certificate It is certified that the Comprehensive Detail Project Report prepared for Sewerage Scheme including Septage Management for Udaipur town by M/s Exceltech Consultancy and Projects Pvt Ltd Jaipur has been thoroughly checked for correctness of data, particulars given in the report and enclosed design. In case any modification is required in the Comprehensive DPR /Design as per suggestion of the concern agency the same shall be done by M/s Exceltech Consultancy and Projects Pvt Ltd. The southern part of Rajasthan state comprises of a large population of tribal communities belonging to various ethnic groups. The tribal community believe that some Gods and deities can be welcomed by some special plants or their parts. So they conserve some plant species due to the traditional ritual ceremonies. These forest dwellers live in forests and possess a vast knowledge on various aspects of plants. An extensive survey of a few tehsils of Banswara was documented to the traditional knowledge of plants used by tribal communities. Tribals like Ninama, Nanoma, Damor, Garasia, Bhagora, Charpota, Singada and Katara are residing in the area. These people have strong traditions, cultural activities, beliefs, taboos, totems, performing religious rituals and valuable information about properties and medicinal uses of plants. Different parts of plant (roots, stem, leaves, bark, fruits, seeds, bulb, etc.) or the whole plant/herb is used for the said purpose of rituals and ceremonies. In this study deals with the documents of 36 plant species used by the rural people of South Rajasthan in ritual ceremonies are reported.

The entire study is based on secondarysources of data. The growth and development of Udaipur city have been discussed in terms of expansion of the city limits from walled city to the present municipal boundary over the two periods of times i.e. pre-independence and post-independence period. However, the trends land use of the city has been examined for four periods of times from 1971 to 2011 and pattern of land use of the city has been analyzed for 2011. The study reveals that there is significant rise in land use in the categories of residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, entertainment, public and semi-public, circulation, the government reserved, agriculture, forest, water bodies, other open areas. Key words: Growth, Development, Land use, Spatio-Temporal, Growth Introduction Land is the most significant of all the natural resources and the human-use of land resources gives rise to land use. Land use varies with the man’s activity on land or purpose for which the land is being used, whether it is for food production, provision of shelter, recreation and processing of materials and so on, as well as the biophysical characteristics of the land itself.
