Skramliga hits ute och inne och dessutom en rejäl dos punk i form av Street Dogs. Ikväll vänder vi upp och ner på Slussen. Street Dogs frontman Mike McColgan hade redan under 90-talet gjort sig ett namn som sångare i Dropkick Murphys, en av Bostonpunkens fanbärare. Med debutalbumet "Savin Hill" från 2003 fick Street Dogs redan från början överväldigande respons och den lojala fanskaran växer med varje nytt album, likt McColgans alltid konfrontativa låttexter och bandets musikaliska skicklighet. Enligt Bostoniansk punktradition skildrar Street Dogs musik arbetarklassens orättvisor och kamp mot en desillusionerad myndighet och giriga storföretag, uppväxten i Bostons hårdare kvarter men även en stolthet för ”Bönstaden”. Även om text och budskap delas kapitaliserar inte Street Dogs på McColgans bakgrund i Dropkick Murphys eller går efter Flogging Molly och The Mighty Mighty Bosstones irländska skapunk. Det är en hårdare och allvarligare punkrock i en explosiv blandning med rötter i Bostons irländska arbetarkultur. A atual aceitação social da prévia rebeldia Punk deu-se através da sua comercialização, onde foi possível ao mainstream suavizar os seus aspetos mais agressivos popularizando assim agrupamentos musicais do género. A vulgarização do Punk ocorreu deste modo através da incorporação comercial da sua música e estética. Neste relatório de estágio reflete-se sobre o papel e a influência da indústria no Punk. Através de uma análise ao festival Mighty Sounds, compreenderemos como a comercialização desta tribo urbana tornou este fenómeno facilmente reconhecido a nível mundial e qual o impacto da indústria nos movimentos do underground, desconhecidos pelo grande público, e que se encontram fora dos mediatismos comerciais e noticiosos.
