    Ubisoft® reports third quarter 2014-15 sales . Record third-quarter sales, coming in above target at €810 million . Targets for full-year 2014-15 updated Paris, February 12, 2015 – Today, Ubisoft released its sales figures for the fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2014. Sales Sales for the third quarter of 2014-15 came to €809.7 million, up 55.8% (or 49.5% at constant exchange rates) compared with the €519.7 million recorded for third-quarter 2013- 14. For the first nine months of fiscal 2014-15, sales totaled €1,293.9 million versus €813.0 million in the corresponding prior-year period, representing an increase of 59.2% (or 58.3% at constant exchange rates). The third-quarter sales figure was higher than the target of approximately €730 million announced when Ubisoft released its first-half 2014-15 results. This performance reflects: . A sharp increase in market share to 12.8%1 for 2014 (from 9.6% in 2013). A very good performance delivered by the two Assassin’s Creed® opuses, Far Cry® 4 and The Crew®, with respective sales of 10 million, 7 million and 2 million units (sell- in): Far Cry 4 was voted “Best Shooter” at "The Games Awards 2014". Known in industry circles for having much tighter production schedules and deadlines, games based on recognisable properties have long been synonymous with poor quality and a broad streak of cynicism. Of course, not all licensed games are bad. Rocksteady’s Arkham series gave players the thrill of being Batman; 2014’s Alien: Isolation recreated the aesthetic of Ridley Scott’s 1979 movie in painstaking (and chilling) detail, and the recently released Fallen Order has been praised in some quarters as the best Star Wars game from EA to date. But for every one of these home runs, there’s a dud like the assorted Iron Man tie-ins from 2008, or the widely derided Aliens: Colonial Marines, released in 2013. Whether they’re good, bad, or indifferent, triple-A licensed games will always exist in some capacity. But as we enter an era of gaming where more and more creatives are breaking away to form smaller studios, we’re now seeing what can happen when tiny teams get to work on some of the most famous IPs in the world. One such team is Illfonic, a Colorado-based developer currently working on the PlayStation exclusive Predator: Hunting Grounds, due out later this year.

This thesis briefly covers the beginnings of pixel graphics, how pixel graphics in video games have changed over the years, as well as a few key techniques that make hi-bit pixel art.
