February 6, 2015 Dear All: the Annapolis Armory and the Joint VTC/WB&A Train Shows Are Just Around the Corner February 6, 2015 Dear All: The Annapolis Armory and the joint VTC/WB&A train shows are just around the corner. We encourage you to attend the shows and to show your support of the Club and the hobby. Please post this information to your social media, local businesses, your job, etc. so that all can come out and enjoy the day with us. Our friends at the NWHS is having a table this weekend at the Greenberg Train Show in Fredericksburg, VA, hope you’ll stop by and say hello and support them. I’m happy to announce the Vienna Train Show will be happening on October 31, 2015 this year! As a reminder, the eblasts and attachments will be placed on the WB&A website under the “About” tab for your viewing/sharing pleasure http://www.wbachapter.org/2015%20eblasts.htm along with the WB&A Facebook page. The attachments are contained in the one PDF attached to this email in an effort to streamline the sending of this email and to ensure the attachments are able to be received. Portuguese Trams It has been 25 years since the OERHS departed Glenwood, yet the following story should be of interest to Imported by Gales Creek newer members because a Portuguese streetcar joined the collection at Powerland in 2006. Porto No. 210 (renumbered Enterprises (1974-1993) 201 before arrival) is not a part of the Trolley Park story, of course, but it is similar to the streetcars that were kept there. Richard Thompson Car 210 was one of a series built during 1938-45 to replace the Brill and St. Louis Car Company classics. A sense of familiarity might also come from the fact that vintage Beginning in 1974, Gales Creek Enterprises (GCE), Portuguese trams share a kinship with our beloved Council headed by Oregon Electric Railway Historical Society Crest cars 503 and 506. (OERHS) co-founder Paul Class, provided at least 70 vintage streetcars to launch trolley operations in a half-dozen American cities. In the process Paul almost single-handedly started what we now call the “heritage streetcar” movement. His company imported many streetcars from Australia and Brazil, but the largest part of that pioneering effort involved trams from Portugal.

This route directly affects me and my commute on a daily basis. 3 A Donovan This route would be a great addition, and a stop at the new Wharf development would be really helpful. The Union Station‐ Navy Yard route has low ridership, especially during the mid‐day and on weekends (17 passengers boarding per hour, tied for 4th in the system). It also currently serves areas that do not demand high‐ Dear DDOT, We live in NE on Capitol Hill and frequently use the Union Station‐Navy Yard Metro route to take our daughter to school. In the summer we use the frequency, all‐day service. From end to end, the trip on the route often to go to Nationals games and to go to Yards Park. The proposed changes would severely impact my family's ability to get our daughter to school and DC Circulator is 28 minutes.

Passengers MARC TRAIN who cross in front of, or behind the train while it is at the station will be denied boarding. Effective June 1, 2021 • Please do not stand in the aisles when seats are available. Standing is never permitted on stairs or in vestibules. Conductors will direct standing passengers to seats when available. C • Passengers must have tickets out for inspection or collection by any authorized MARC representative. CharmPass users must have the app open and ticket activated when Conductors enter the car to Baltimore to check tickets. When directed by the Conductor, customers must tap the screen on their mobile device Washington DC to demonstrate the security features of the app. If the customer’s device is not working—including a Weekday Peak Service dead battery—or the customer refuses to tap the screen, the ticket is considered invalid and the customer must purchase a ticket from the Conductor.
