It’s why we were the first U.S. college to teach jazz and the first to offer majors in songwriting, music synthesis, and film scoring. It’s why we teach electronic digital instruments and virtual reality. We’re always striving to push music education further, make it better, and drive it in new directions. Herbie Hancock, Esperanza Spalding, David Bowie, and the cast of Hamilton have all recorded here. As a fully functioning recording studio, it’s the perfect location to offer educational programs, performance space, and resources for New York performing artists. Not only in our 1,215-seat Berklee Performance Center and numerous theaters and halls, but even in our 400-seat dining hall.
