Ver. Summary: The distribution of permafrost in the Dachstein massive (Northern Lime- stone Alps, Styria, Austria). After some comments on alpine permafrost a short presentation of the investigated area including its glaciation is given. Then results of digging, temperature measuring of springs as well as measurements of the basical temperature of the winter snow cover are discussed. Thus the existence of permafrost in the Dachstein massive is proved for the first time. Also for the first time a map of permafrost distribution for a small area of the Northern Alps can be drawn. -
Louise Roy: Intrapreneurship Through Organizational Change 1(B)
International Journal of Case Method Research & Application (2011) XXIII, 3 © 2011 WACRA®. All rights reserved ISSN 1554-7752 LOUISE ROY: INTRAPRENEURSHIP THROUGH ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE 1(B) Joëlle Piffault Louis Jacques Fillion HEC Montréal MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC, CANADA Abstract In cases A, B, C and D, the authors describe the career of Louise Roy, a woman who has shown outstanding leadership in the organizations she has managed. The basis for her leadership lies in her training as a sociologist and her fundamental interest in human beings, but beyond this, there is also Louise Roy the person and her ability to commit. She is not afraid of taking risks, making courageous choices or seizing opportunities. Very few Canadians have held such senior positions in major European multinationals. Throughout her very unusual career, she has always been guided by a constant desire to be herself and an ongoing focus on organizational innovation. Case B (1992-2003) describes her management experience implementing structural changes at Air France Americas Division first and later at IATA's more traditional North American environment. These cases are discussed at various levels (MBA, MS and Graduate Diplomas, and Bachelor's) in Intrapreneurship, Visionary and Entrepreneurial Thinking, Managerial and Strategic Craft, Management Skills, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurial Craft, Entrepreneurial Project Planning, and Management courses. KEY WORDS: Intrapreneurship, organizational change, leadership CHRISTIAN BLANC, AIR FRANCE, PARIS, THE AMERICAS AND IATA 2 But first a brief incursion into the private sector with the Laurentian Group Louise Roy was recruited by a head-hunter and went to work for the Laurentian Group in July 1992. -

The natural landscape provokes artists to revive it with architecture. Architects overcome technical limitations, physiographic, customary more or less picturesquely incorporating their works into the richness of natural forms. Many benefits come from this recklessness for the region. The hit trend is also appreciated for the triumph of technical thought. It puts into confusion at once because of the gradual takeover of the natural environment. The aim of the work is to search for solutions that would help preserve the beauty of the mountain environment and at the same time make the widest group of recipients available. Analyzing the above issues, the comparative method was used, presenting achievements in the field of high-altitude objects design in extreme physiographic conditions, implemented in the Alps region. The region has a developed ski and tourist infrastructure. It is an example of maintaining moderation and specific character, despite growing new needs and expectations from tourists and sportsmen. However, it is not free from the over-investment trap. 1 Preface Clean glaciers, lakes, quiet valleys, deep ravines, animals leaving the hiding place in search of food, human footprints only on hiking trails, peaceful villages. More than a century ago amateurs of such mountains are now looking for contact with nature in romantic huts in a remote area. -

Le Grand Paris & Sydney
Le Grand Pari(S)ydney – a cultural shift that could work here Le Grand Paris & Sydney: why Sydney should look to the Paris Byera Hadley model of architect-led ateliers for Travelling Scholarships urban growth – that put ideas, not Journal Series politics at the forefront 2015 Tim Williams 1 NSW Architects Registration Board A 2 NSW Architects Registration Board A The Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarships Journal Series is a select library of research compiled by more than 160 architects, students and graduates since 1951, and made possible by the generous gift of Sydney Architect and educator, Byera Hadley. Byera Hadley, born in 1872, was a distinguished architect responsible for the design and execution of a number of fine buildings in New South Wales. He was dedicated to architectural education, both as a part-time teacher in architectural drawing at the Sydney Technical College, and culminating in his appointment in 1914 as Lecturer-in-Charge at the College’s Department of Architecture. Under his guidance, the College became acknowledged as one of the finest schools of architecture in the British Empire. Byera Hadley made provision in his will for a bequest to enable graduates of architecture from a university in NSW to travel in order to broaden their experience in architecture, with a view to advancing architecture upon their return to Australia. Today, the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship fund is managed by Perpetual as Trustee, in conjunction with the NSW Architects Registration Board. One of the most significant undertakings in skiing history Between the 21st. of March and April 29th of 1971 the Austrians Robert Kittl, Klaus Hoi, Hansjörg Farbmacher and Hans Mariacher were the first and until now the only ones which completed the entire crossing along the main divide of the European Alps . They were supported by Alois Schett who followed them by car and met up with them at certain points along the way. Otherwise the skiers were on their own. The team was perfectly selected and put together, they each belonged to the worlds best with their abilities and experience at the time. There were attempts to re-do this exceptional expedition, however no one since now was successful since. ©HELIPUTZ 0043664 3441486 [email protected] !2 They Team 1971 didn’t seek the easiest or fasted route, but the most interesting and challenging route along the main divide. The most well known, the highest and the most interesting peaks of the main divide of the alps were crossed. Therefore the Line is defined for the re-enactment. At the time they the media followed their progress, so Film as well as photo’s material exists of their trip. -
Texte Hommage
