Regatta Club Brunnen Enthusiasm, a beautiful landscape and a wonderful sailing region with great wind as well as one of the most beautiful harbour facilities of Switzerland are just some of the key success factors of the Regatta Club Brunnen with over 150 members.
The Regatta Club Brunnen has organized over 160 regattas since its foundation in 1963 and has therefore great know-how and experience in carrying out events professionally. These regattas have brought thousands of sailors to Brunnen. Doing so it supplies an important contribution to the tourism in Brunnen. The coat of arms of the village as well as the emblem of Brunnen Tourismus consist of sails.

The aim of the Yacht Club Brunnen is to promote the regatta- sailing-sport on Lake Uri, especially races with One-Design- Classes.

Infrastructure
The Regatta Club Brunnen has access to two marinas situated within 6 min distance by bicycle. Both places are intended to be used during the Worlds 2017.

Brunnen with its 8500 inhabitants, with its hotels and restaurants in the middle of a great excursion area on the shore of Lake Lucerne offers a great deal of touristy attractions to the guests from all over the world.
The possibilities of excursions are versatile and the world famous mountains like Rigi, Fronalpstock, Pilatus, Stanserhorn and Bürgenstock are easily accessible. Mountain railways, chair lift, rotating gondolas or a cabrio-train take the tourists quickly and safely to the mountains.

On Lake Lucerne you can find the largest inland-lake steamboat fleet of the world.
The five steamboats, built between 1901 and 1928, have been carefully restored and circulate the lake according to a time table. Lucerne can be reached in 2 hours of peaceful floating.

Across from Brunnen there is the Rütli, the founding site of Switzerland. It is said that the representatives of the three original cantons swore the Rütli-alliance in 1291. More historic sites like the Chapel of Tell, the Tellsplatte or the Hohle Gasse (known because of Friedrich Schiller‘s „William Tell“) are situated nearby.
Brunnen is well connected to the transportation infrastructure because of its location on the north-south connection between Hamburg and Rome. A highway exit as well as hourly connections by train to the airport Zurich stand for easy and quick accessibility.

Windconditions Lake of Uri
Brunnen is situated at the northern end of Lake Uri, an arm of Lake Lucerne. On the Lake Uri you can find thermic conditions with 3-5Bft coming from North. west eastern basin With strong western wind there is the possibility of sailing on the west-eastern basin at Gersau. Only very
