Purpose The Older Americans Act (OM) of 1965 and as amended in 2000 requires that each state submit a State Plan on Aging (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"} in order to be eligible for federal funding under the OM. The Bureau of Senior Services, Office of the Lieutenant Governor is the designated State Unit on Aging (SUA) for South Carolina, and as such is responsible for administering and carrying out requirements of the OM. This Plan provides a blueprint for how the SUA will manage OM programs, services, and other activities from October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2008. It provides guidance on how the SUA will carry out its mission of enhancing the quality of life of all older citizens, regardless of whether they participate in OM programs. This four-year Plan incorporates major goals and objectives adopted by the state's ten
