A saint is a special person from the Christian faith who is no longer alive and who did extra special things to help people and tell them about God.
A patron saint is someone who has been chosen to be a protector of a group or organisation.
Countries can have patron saints too. Each country in the United Kingdom has its own patron saint. These patron saints have special days. Saint David

Saint Patrick was born in Wales around 300 years after Jesus was born. He was captured and sold into slavery in Ireland. Saint Patrick later escaped and returned to Wales.
