At OCAD U, we ask you to select a program of study when you apply. This will be your main focus throughout your four years. But as an interdisciplinary univer- sity, there will still be opportunities for you to explore other areas of study, mediums and materials — both within your program as well as in your electives. 5 You should choose a program that is the right fit for you and for the way you make, create and innovate. WBOOK 2017 e “IT WAS Think about what you like to make, how you like to work and VI what kinds of questions you have about the world. This will give you an idea about which program is right for you and whether lOVE AT you are more of an artist, a designer, or something in between. As an artist (Bachelor of Fine Arts) you usually prefer to work independently, and have some kind of inner message or personal expression you want to share with the world. As a FIRST SIGhT.” designer (Bachelor of Design) you tend to work for a client, sometimes as part of a team, acting collaboratively to solve a problem. Or you might research and write critically about visual culture, art history and creative practices (Bachelor of Arts). And remember that when you start your program, you can always take a minor in order to pull together any additional skills you wish to acquire.
