The immature stages of Polycrates consutus (Germar) are described with notes on its distribution and biology. The first records of the occurrence of species of Lampropunctus Scudder and Lamproceps Reuter from South Africa are included. Wing polymorphism is discussed. Lispolophus Bergroth is reduced to junior synonymy with Diniella. Diniella nitens (Wagner) is reduced to a junior synonym of Diniella laevicollis. | 421 Resumen LYGAEOIDEA La superfamila Lygaeoidea (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomomorpha) es una de las mayores y más diver- sas, con más de 4000 especies, de Heteroptera. Los hábitats de las especies del grupo son variados, hay grupos arbóreos, geófilos y laminófilos. La mayoría se alimentan de semillas maduras, aunque las Blissidae y algunas Lygaeidae son succionadoras de savia, los Geocoridae son principalmente depredadoras y las Cle- radini (Rhyparochromidae) se alimentan de sangre de vertebrados. Las ninfas viven en los mismos hábitats que los adultos y se alimentan generalmente de las mismas plantas. Actualmente en los Lygaeoidea se reconocen 15 familias, de las cuales 12 han sido registradas de la región Neotropical y 11 de la Argentina: Berytidae, Blissidae, Colobathristidae, Cymidae, Geocoridae, Lygaeidae, Ninidae, Oxycarenidae, Pachygronthidae, Piesmatidae y Rhyparochromidae. Se presenta una breve historia taxonómica, aspectos filogenéticos y de la clasificación actual de la superfamilia, bibliografía de referencia y una clave para la identificación de las familias de la Argentina. Para cada familia se presenta una diagnosis, principales trabajos, aspectos de la bio- logía y la diversidad a nivel mundial y en la Argentina, así como claves para la determinación de los géneros presentes en el pais. Además, se reseña la importancia agroeconómica del grupo. Se adjunta un listado de las 154 especies citadas de Argentina. A New Species of Raglius Stål (Heteroptera: Rhyparochromidae) from Israel

KEYWORDS: Heteroptera, Rhyparochromidae, Rhyparochromini, Raglius, Israel, New Species INTRODUCTION Raglius Stål comprises medium-sized species belonging to the Rhyparochromus com- plex which was ranked in recent works either as genus (e.g., LeQuesne, 1957) or sub- genus within the genus Rhyparochromus (e.g., Wagner, 1961; Péricart, 1998). Wagner (1961) in his monograph on the Rhyparochromus complex was the first to revise this group based on the genitalia, overall including seven species in Raglius. In his work Ra- glius was considered as a subgenus of Rhyparochromus mainly based on the type of the genitalia of R. vulgaris.Wagner (1961: 85) rejected LeQuesne (1957) idea to consider Raglius as a valid genus arguing that some characteristics represent transitional forms between Raglius and Rhyparochromus s. str. Péricart (1998: 263) based his Raglius classification on external characters and transferred three species to the subgenusRhypa - rochromus. Later in his catalogue Péricart (2001: 190) treated the Rhyparochromus complex as a genus for practical purpose, but suggested that a worldwide revision is needed. According to Péricart (2001) the Israel fauna consists of three Raglius species: R. alboacuminatus, R. confusus and R. zarudnyi. Inventory Research on Rhyparochromidae (Insecta: Heteroptera) in Sarawak, Malaysia, with a Checklist of the Family Known from Borneo

Twenty-seven species of Rhyparochromidae in seven tribes and 20 genera are recorded from Sarawak, East Malaysia, on the basis of specimens housed in the Forest Research Centre (FRC), Kuching, Malaysia, and the National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo, Japan. Of these, nine species are new to Borneo, i.e., Botocudo yasumatsui, Pactye elegans, Entisberus ar- chetypus, Diniella sevosa, Pamerana scotti, Paromius piratoides, Stigmatonotum geniculatum, Tachytatus prolixicornis, and Elasmolomus pallens, and seven species are new to Sarawak, i.e. Clerada noctua, Pactye distincta, Heissodrymus magnus, Kanigara oculata, Horridipamera niet- neri, Pamerarma ventralis, and Pseudopachybrachius guttus. This result evidently shows an exces- sive insufficiency of inventory researches on this group not only in Sarawak but also in Borneo as a whole. A checklist of Rhyparochromidae for 57 species in eight tribes and 33 genera known from Borneo is also provided for further progress of the inventory. A new genus and species, Rhyparoclava pyrrhocoroides gen. & sp. nov. from the Montagne de Français in northern Madagascar is described and illustrated, including structures of the external scent efferent system of the metathoracic scent glands, pregenital abdomen and its trichobothrial pattern, and the genitalia of both sexes. This autapomorphic taxon is brachypterous, anocellate, and has the most strongly clavate antennae known in Rhyparo- chromidae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea). The systematic placement of Rhyparoclava pyrrhocoroides is discussed and the taxon is placed in the subfamily Rhyparochrominae, and tentatively in the tribe Rhyparochromini, though examination of a larva is needed to confi rm the tribal placement in the future. All known specimens of Rhyparoclava pyrrhocoroides were collected by sifting of leaf litter and other plant residues in woody parts of the Montagne de Français Reserve, characterized by strictly seasonal, dry deciduous forest. -

SLATER In this paper an attempt has been made to present an adequate list of Lygaeidae found in Iowa and Illinois, and to indicate what is known of the intrastate distributions of the various species. This paper is limited to geographic considerations and, in this sense, assumes the character of a "local list"' as no biological or ecological considerations are discussed. It is felt that our knowledge of the Nearctic Lygaeidae has reached a degree of maturity where know· ledge of state and lesser faunal areas is essential to encourage the badly needed bionomic work that should develop with a relatively stable and mature taxonomy. -

A list of 123 true bug species and subspecies of the families Tingidae (19 species), Nabidae (7 species), Anthocoridae (11 species, 1 subspecies), Aradidae (1 species), Lygaeidae s. l. (77 species, 1 subspecies), Piesmatidae (1 species), and Berytidae (4 species) from Khuzestan and the adjacent provinces in southern Iran is published. Eight species are recorded from Iran for the fi rst time: Tingidae: Agramma confusum (Puton, 1879), Agramma subnotatum Péricart, 1981, Tingis geniculata (Fieber, 1844); Aradidae: Aradus fl avicornis Dalman, 1827; Lygaei- dae s. l.: Artheneis turangae Kerzhner, 1997, Auchenodes conspersus (Jakovlev, 1885), Holcocranum diminutum diminutum Horváth, 1898, and Piesmatidae: Parapiesma rotundatum (Horváth, 1906). One poorly known species, Geocoris montandoniellus Kiritshenko, 1915, is redescribed and compared with the most similar species. Key words. The second part of the catalogue of the Otokar Kubík collection of Heteroptera covers the superfamily Lygaeoidea, the families Lygaeidae, Cymidae, Blissidae, Geocoridae, Arthe nei dae, Heterogastridae, Oxycarenidae, and Rhyparochromidae. Most of the material originate from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia Hercegovina, Bulgaria and Hun - gary; a few specimens from other countries are also found. The following data are particu- larly noteworthy: Raglioides delineatus (Rambur, 1839), so far known as endemic to southern Spain, is recorded from Morocco for the first time; Nysius helveticus (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850), Geocoris (Geocoris) lineola lineola (Rambur, 1839), Gonianotus galactodermus Fieber, 1861, and Peritrechus geniculatus (Hahn, 1832) are new species for Croatia; the occurrences of Plinthisus (Plinthisus) coracinus Horváth, 1876 and Megalonotus sabulicola (Thomson, 1870) in Croatia, and of Orsillus depressus (Mulsant & Rey, 1852), Geocoris (Piocoris) erythrocepha lus (Lepeletier & Serville, 1825), Emblethis verbasci (Fabricius, 1803), Beosus maritimus (Sco po li, 1763), and Rhyparochromus phoeniceus (Rossi, 1794) in Bosnia Hercegovina, are confirmed. Additional records of the rare and critically threatened species Macrodema microptera (Cur - tis, 1836), Pionosomus opacellus Horváth, 1895, and Pionosomus varius (Wolff, 1804) from Bohemia are also interesting. -

Estudio taxonómico y faunístico de los Lygaeidae Schilling, 1829 (Insecta: Heteroptera) del macizo central de la Sierra de Gredos (Sistema Central) Miguel Costas Vega Resumen: Durante los años 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988 y 1989 se realizaron muestreos en las estaciones de primavera y verano, en diferentes localidades de la Sierra de Gredos. Durante el año 1990 se realizaron muestreos sistemáticos en 11 localidades prospectándose 8 medios diferentes en los que podían vivir los ligeidos. Se han estudiado un total de 3.796 ejemplares pertenecientes a 70 especies. Se analiza la composición faunística de ligeidos para la sierra de Gredos desde varios puntos de vista. Así se observa que aunque no hay diferencias significativas entre ambas vertientes en el número de especies presentes, si que existen en cuanto a la composición que muestra cada ladera. También se analiza la taxocenosis de ligeidos por pisos de vegetación, siendo el preferido el piso Supramediterrá- neo. De los ochos medios muestreados, tres han resultado ser los que han dado el mayor número de especies y de ejemplares: suelos, hojarascas y musgos. Se estudia la Sierra de Gredos desde la caracterización autoecológica de las especies capturadas (frecuencia y abundancia) y del estudio sinecológico (índices de riqueza y diversidad) desglosado por localidades, por vertientes, por medios y T E S I S por pisos de vegetación.
