The Speaker Dr. Sahana D Acharya, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, KMC, Mangaluru There were 75 participants which included faculties, PG students & MBBS students. 9. 05.02.2020 Organized an Interdepartmental CME by Dept of Community Medicine in collaboration with Departments of General Medicine, Microbiology and Hospital Administration on “Updates on Coronavirus” at 8 th floor, EMD building, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital. 10. 06.02.2020 Department of Biochemistry, Yenepoya Medical College organized a Workshop on YEN Bio Sim 2020 –“BUBBLES” titled “Blood Gases: Integrated Simulation Lab-Based Workshop”. 11. 12.02.2020 Department of Physiology conducted a CME titled “Frontiers in Physiology Research-Basic science to translation” from 9 am to 1 pm in LH IV, Yenepoya Medical College, Yenepoya (deemed to be University). 12. 12.02.2020 Department of Physiology conducted a Workshop on “Computer assisted learning” from 2 pm to 5 pm in Digital Library, Yenepoya (deemed to be University). 13. 15.02.2020 & Department of Psychiatry of Yenepoya Medical College, Department of Psychiatry of KSHEMA 16.02.2020 and Mangalore Psychiatric Society jointly organized the Indian Psychiatry Society - Karnataka Chapter & Mangalore Psychiatric Society IPS-KC Mid-term CME 2020 (Theme : Psychiatry Beyond Books) & Psychiatry Premier League -10 which was held at K.S Hegde Auditorium, K.S Hegde Medical Academy, Deralakatte, Mangaluru. 14. 17.02.2020 to Department of Geriatric Medicine conducted Certificate course in “Palliative care with 19.02.2020 emphasis on Geriatric care” Resource Person: Dr Cordula Dietrich, Psychiatry, M.Sc Music Therapy 15. 18.02.2020 A guest lecture was organized on the topic “Imaging of the paranasal sinuses” by Dr. Prahlada N, Director Karnataka ENT Hospital and Research Centre, Chitradurga 16. 20.02.2020 to Department of General Medicine in association with MEDIACION Germany conducted 23.02.2020 Certificate course in “Psychodrama” Resource Person: Dr Jochen Becker , CEO Medi Acion India 17. 21.02.2020 Guest Lecture: Guest Lecture by Jochen Becker, Trainer in leadership communication of end of life, Palliative care on the topic “Humanistic approach in communication and medicine as ethical needs for clients help work” in Demo Room -1. Faculty of Forensic Medicine and Students of MSc Research Ethics attended the guest lecture. 18. 14.03.2020 Dr. Ramakrishna Avadhani Resource person for the CME on “ JOURNEY INTO THE EAR”, Understanding Anatomy of Ear Through Temporal Bone Dissection organized by the Dept. of Anatomy in association with dept. of Otorhinolaryngology of KS Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore. 19. 05.03.2020 Organized a CME on “Demystifying CBME” at LH IV, YMC, 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM. 20. 13.03.2020 The Workshop “Basic concepts of Animal Experiment & Ethics” was held from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm at Dept. of Pharmacology, Yenepoya Medical College. 21. 14.03.2020 The department of Microbiology, Yenepoya Medical college organized a State level Microbiology quiz in Indoor auditorium, Yenepoya Medical College, Around 90 students participated in this quiz competition from various institutions 22. 18.03.2020 Mr. M Gopi Shankar, Founder, Srishti-NGO, Madurai gave a guest lecture “Justice to the transgender population through dignity centered approach in healthcare(looking beyond binary)” in Lecture Hall III, Yenepoya Medical College organized by Centre for Ethics, Yenepoya University. 54 members were present in the guest lecture. 23. 08.03.2020 The Program based on Simulation organized by the department of Orthopaedics in co- ordination with department of Anaesthesia and ACTSYEN held at Simulation lab, 8th floor, EMD building, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital. 24. 07.03.2020 Presentation on Adolescent Health at Thaqwa Shari,ath College , Valencia on 7th Saturday @ 10.30am under the Aegis of KSOGA by Dr. Mariam Anjum Ifthikar Gynaeconcologist Department of Oncology YMCH. 25. 08.03.2020 Cancer screening camp on 8/3/2020 Dr. Mariam Anjum Ifthikar Gynaeconcologist Department of Oncology YMCH. On account of International Women's day March 8th 2020 Department of Oncology is Conducting a Screening programme for police personnel in association with Yenepoya speciality hospital and Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University On Sunday Morning 9:30 am to 1:00p.m Under the aegis of FOGSI, MOGS,KSC-AGOI. 26. 25.05.2020 Dr. Vina Vaswani was taken online classes for PGDFAO 2020 batch students Subject: Forensic Anthropology (Disaster Victim Identification- Introduction), Topic covered “Introduction to Disasters Brief History Types & Management of Disasters. 14 candidates (12 from PGDFAO 2020 batch and 2 from 2019 PGDFAO batch) and 2 staffs were (Dr. K. Leena Pramod and Dr. Muhammad Nasir Ahamad) present. 27. 30.04.2020 Dr. Mehnaz Abdulla- Part of E-Conference for Yenepoya Nursing College. Topic - Intensive Care management in Obstetrics at Yenepoya University. 28. 16.04.2020 Dr. Anil Kakunje, Professor & Head, participated in a TV interview program on the topic : „Psychological effects of Lockdown‟ 29. 18.04.2020 Dr. Anil Kakunje, Professor & Head, participated as a speaker in the webinar on Integrating Bio-psychosocial services to fight COVID 19 pandemic and spoke on „ The how and why of delivering Tele mental health services‟. 30. 31.03.2020 Dr. Ravichandra Karkal, Associate Professor, gave a telephonic interview on AIR Karwar addressed the topic on “Mental health issues surrounding the pandemic of COVID 19 and Lockdown”. 31. Dr. Ravichandra Karkal, Associate Professor, conducted a social media campaign through a series of videos to educate general public about mental health issues surrounding COVID 19 pandemic and Lockdown. 32. 17.04.2020 Dr. RavichandraKarkal, Associate Professor, gave a telephonic interview on topic “How to be mentally strong during Corona virus lockdown?” broadcasted on AIR Bengaluru. 33. 22.04.2020 Dr. RavichandraKarkal, Associate Professor, participated as Resource person for Virtual Summit 2020 on “Scale of Gender Balance” a webinar organized by Threedhara and Akanksha-Hoes for better life and spoke on “Violence against Women and Girls and its psychological impact”. 34. 28.04.2020 Dr. RavichandraKarkal, Associate Professor, participated as Resource person for webinar on “Life Skills” organized by an NGO Akanksha Charitable Trust, Puttur as a part of Online Skill Enhancement Programme 2020. 35. 08.05.2020 Online session conducted for Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Anthropology and Odontology students.
