I MR. AND MRS. JOHN J. RICCARDO Meadow Brook is most fortunate to be able to call upon the enlightened cultural dedication of Thelma and John Riccardo for leadership as general chairmen of the Festival and Theatre Executive Committee. The Festival and Theatre have been joined administratively for a little more than a year and both programs have made significant strides under the hard-working, unified Executive Committee that is guided by the Riccardos. Several important staff functions are now shared by the two performing arts enterprises, including box office, public relations, group sales and a business office, which makes Meadow Brook more efficient and promotes a desirable continuity and community of spirit and purpose. Building upon last season's highly successful expansion of program format, Mr. and Mrs. Riccardo have encouraged the further enlargement of the Festival's scope to include this year two concert performances of Beethoven's "Fidelio" and a whole new series of rock and folk concerts, bringing the 1971 season to a record total of 39 musical programs. The Riccardos became general chairmen as the natural culmination of years that they have spent as ardent supporters of Meadow Brook Theatre. For the countless hours of work they volunteered in the past and for their wise and inspir• ing leadership now, Oakland University wishes to record its deep appreciation. ~cJJVd~D President, Oakland University 7 THE MEADOW BROOI( COMMITTEES MR.
