1 /10 0.0 This is what Netflix's Reed Hastings thinks of the AT&T- Time Warner merger (1.03/2) Netflix 's Reed Hastings could be looking at a new, behemoth of a rival, now that AT&T has agreed to buy Time Warner , parent to HBO.

While he expected it to take months for Netflix to sort through the details of the proposed deal, he already had one simple guideline in mind.

"We want to require that for AT&T customers, that HBO and Netflix are treated the same," said Hastings in an exclusive interview with CNBC at the WSJ D Conference. "Now that they're going to own HBO we think that any special treatment for HBO data would be inappropriate, but I think that's pretty basic. "

Hastings also acknowledged that AT&T's ownership of Time Warner could have some clear drawbacks, as well as some surprising advantages. "There's a lot of AT&T investment in content, that could make things tougher," said Hastings. "On the other hand it's probably going to get easier for us to recruit Time Warner executives, which are a very talented bunch. "

Hastings didn't respond to speculation that Netflix could be a great acquisition target for the likes of Apple. When asked about whether the time could be right to sell the company to a tech giant, Hastings responded by focusing on his company's track record-- a stock that is up almost 100- fold in the 14 years that the company's been public.

Hastings also stressed that the company's success is based on a commitment to the company's product and content, and the discipline of staying away from deals.

"That's what made us successful for the last 14 years is we've done no M&A. We've stayed out of all those discussions. We don't do bankers meetings. We're very old school in that way," said Hastings. "Let's just build the greatest service on earth, and again, it's done very well for our shareholders. "

3 /10 1.7 Asian stocks mixed after economic data SEOUL, South Korea - Asian stocks were mixed on Tuesday in moderate trading as upbeat reports on manufacturing in the U. S. and Europe were followed by weak growth data from South Korea, Asia’s fourth- largest economy.

KEEPING SCORE: Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.8 percent to 17,365.25 while South Korea’s Kospi fell 0.5 percent to 2,037.17. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index dipped 0.1 percent to 23,580.50 and the Shanghai Composite index was flat at 3,128.73. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.6 percent to 5,442.80. Markets in Southeast Asia were mixed.

SLOWING GROWTH: The Bank of Korea said South Korea’s third-quarter growth slowed to its lowest level in more than a year, expanding 2.7 percent over a year earlier. Manufacturing saw its largest decline in more than five years thanks to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 recalls and a strike at Hyundai Motors. “Korea’s economy lost momentum in the third quarter of 2016, and we expect growth will struggle in the coming quarters due to a combination of rising domestic headwinds and subdued global demand,” Krystal Tan of Capital Economics said in a commentary.

BUSINESS IN U. S., EUROPE: A survey of U. S. manufacturing climbed to its highest level in a year, while a purchasing managers’ index, or PMI, compiled by research firm IHS Markit showed business activity across the eurozone grew at its fastest pace so far this year in October.

ANALYST’S TAKE: “On the data front, PMI manufacturing readings improved for the U. S., Japan and Europe,” Mizuho Bank said in a daily commentary. “This continues to point to ongoing recovery in G3 economies though at a modest pace.”

WALL STREET: U. S. stocks finished higher on Monday as a spate of corporate deal-making over the weekend boosted investor sentiment. The Dow Jones industrial average gained 0.4 percent to 18,223.03. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 0.5 percent to 2,151.33. Big gains for tech companies, pushed the Nasdaq composite up 1 percent to 5,309.83.

OIL: Benchmark U. S. crude added 7 cents to $50.59 per barrel in New York. The contract closed 33 cents lower at $50.52 a barrel on Monday. Brent crude, the international standard, fell 6 cents to $51.39 a barrel in . CURRENCIES: The dollar rose to 104.46 yen from 104.30 yen. The euro was flat at $1.0875.

4 /10 0.0 Donald Trump 'hosted wild parties with sex, cocaine and underage models' Donald Trump used to host wild cocaine-fueled sex parties with underage models as young as 15 at the Plaza Hotel, a new report has claimed. Two men who attended the bashes said the Republican nominee threw them regularly in the suites of the Manhattan luxury hotel when he owned it between 1988 and 1995, the Daily Beast’s Michael Gross reports. Trump, who was married to his second wife Marla Maples at the time, never took cocaine at the parties, but would have sex with multiple girls, one of the men who attended has said. While other guests did cocaine and drank, Trump was ‘getting laid like crazy,’ the man, a fashion photographer based in New York who wished to remain anonymous, said. Scroll down for video Trump would go from ‘room to room’ where there were ‘guys with younger girls, sex, a lot of sex, a lot of cocaine, top shelf liquor’ but no smoking, which the businessman didn’t approve of, the photographer told the Daily Beast. ‘Trump was in and out. He’d wander off with a couple girls. I saw him. He was getting laid like crazy,’ he added. ‘Trump was at the heart of it. He loved the attention and in private, he was a total f****** beast.’ Andy Lucchesi, a male model who used to help arrange the parties, suggested that many underage models attended. ‘A lot of girls, 14, look 24,’ he said. ‘That’s as juicy as I can get. I never asked how old they were; I just partook.’ He also claimed that while Trump never took drugs, the real estate mogul had plenty of sex at the parties. The unnamed photographer said Trump would take over corner suites at the Plaza for days to host the parties. He claimed the billionaire would invite young models to meet his wealthy and older friends who would purport to help their careers. ‘There were always dramas because the men threw money and drugs at them to keep them enticed. ‘It’s based on power and dominating girls who can’t push back and can be discarded.’ DailyMail.com has contacted the Trump campaign for comment on the allegations. Trump has spoken of the ‘fast life’ associated with teenage models in an interview with the New York Times in 1997 when his daughter Ivanka, then 15, was pursuing a career in modeling herself. ‘I am only modestly in favour of this because I understand that that life is a very fast life, and at that age it is always a risky proposition.’ And in his report, Gross recalls what Trump told him in a previous interview about his days as a bachelor. Trump called no-strings-attached sex his ‘second business,’ adding: ‘If I hadn’t got married, who knows what would have happened? You had drugs, women and booze all over the f****** place.’ The latest claims come as Trump’s presidential campaign falters in the wake of accusations from at least 12 women who say he has groped or sexually assaulted them. They came forward after a 2005 ‘Access Hollywood’ tape surfaced in which Trump was heard bragging that he is able to ‘grab [women] by the p****’ and get away with it because of his celebrity. Trump has denied all the recent allegations, and he addressed a new one in an interview with WGIR radio in New Hampshire on Monday. He called the accusations 'total fiction' and lashed out at one: former adult film performer Jessica Drake. Drake said on Saturday that he had grabbed and kissed her without permission and then offered her $10,000 to visit his hotel room a decade ago. ‘One said, 'He grabbed me on the arm.' And she's a porn star,’ Trump said. ‘Oh, I'm sure she's never been grabbed before.’ And a defiant Trump blamed his campaign struggles on ‘phony polls’ from the ‘disgusting’ media, fighting to energize his most loyal supporters as his path to the presidency shrinks. With just two weeks to go until the election, he campaigned in battleground Florida as his team conceded publicly as well as privately that crucial Pennsylvania may be slipping away to his opponent Hillary Clinton. That would leave him only a razor-thin pathway to the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House on November 8.

6 /10 1.0 'Dancing with the Stars' jitterbugs and jives down memory lane It's dancing through the years for week seven of "Dancing with the Stars. " The theme: "Eras Night. "The idea is to showcase popular music and dances from the 1920s through the 1990s. Along with their individual dances, we also saw the celebrities paired into groups of four as "team past" and "team future. " They were awarded bonus points for the group numbers. And in the end, another team was eliminated. Here's a recap of the Monday competition, from highest score to lowest:James and Sharna quickly and easily transport us back to the 1940s with their jitterbug. The pressure is on for two reasons: they've been topping the leader board, and Sharna injured her knee in rehearsal. The pro never lets on that she's hurting and the dance is free, fast and fun. Head judge Len Goodman has returned for the night, and he called James a major contender; Julianne Hough told the couple they always leave her wanting more and that from character to choreography and everything in between their routines are always well done; Carrie Ann Inaba loves the way James can immerse himself in any role; and Bruno Tonioli thinks their storytelling is always compelling and the duo is unstoppable. Another athlete is tied for the top of the leader board. Calvin and Lindsay visited the 1950s with their fast-moving jive. Calvin is nervous that in this dance he can't do lifts, which is something he and his partner are particularly good at doing! But Lindsay wants to prove he's a great dancer, with or without lifts! Len called the routine a polished, high octane performance and was pleased to see how much Calvin has improved while he was in England; Carrie Ann coined a new phrase, saying the football player "Calvin-ized" the dance and makes things look energetic, effortless and easy on the eyes. Our teenage Olympian gets invited to her first prom with Val and a 1960s quickstep. It's pretty adorable that the prom idea is foreign to her - Laurie is home schooled. And come on, who wouldn't want to go to the prom with Val? Len praised her performance but thinks Laurie needs to work a bit more on her technique. Val's answer? He thinks Len has jet lag! Bruno called her a luminous performer. Terra was disheartened by her drop to the bottom of the leader board last week. Sasha encouraged her to use that as the fire to keep the intensity up during rehearsals. Terra's two young kids come by rehearsal and she's equally fueled by them and wanting to be a role model to them. After their 1930s foxtrot, Julianne welcomed her back to the ballroom; Bruno thought she brought glamour and elegance to the routine; Carrie Ann praised Terra for fully committing to every movement; and Len thinks she puts the "all" in "small. "Jana had the weight of the world on her shoulders after earning the season's first perfect score last week. She's also on tour and had to fit rehearsal time wherever she could. The stress took its toll in tears and frustration but Gleb got her through the drama and they had fun with their 1970s samba. Carrie Ann complimented the duo for taking risks and encouraged Jana not to get discouraged; Julianne thinks the couple is breaking out at just the right time and told Jana she believes in her. It was a 1920s Charleston for Marilu and Derek. This week, it was Derek who showed more stress during rehearsals and he says he was able to empathize a bit more with what Marilu has been going through. Len called the dance fun and entertaining and thought it captured the '20s vibe, even if the couple did lose some synchronicity along the way; Julianne felt transported to the era but applauded Marilu for keeping up with all the younger competitors this season. Ryan's getting the hang of learning the steps but hasn't quite mastered the idea of selling himself as a new character each week. He admits the people on this show have changed his life and gotten him out of what he called a very dark hole. For their 1990s rumba, Carrie Ann thought Ryan did well but is still missing that connection to the music; he's fine at doing what he is told but she wants him to really feel it. Len admired that the two simply came out and danced, they didn't try to hide behind a big production. Even though Maureen was around in the 1980s she wasn't much into rock and roll. She's learning a lot about music when their tango is choreographed to Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name. " Maureen and Artem are still working through their communication issues, but she says she is learning to speak up more and it feels good. Len enjoyed her rocker chick attitude and thought there was plenty of tango content; Carrie Ann told Maureen she thinks the reason people love her is that even if she makes a minor stumble, she keeps on going; and Julianne advised Maureen to take her hot rock outfit home! In the team competition, "Team Past," featuring James, Calvin, Ryan and Maureen earned 38 out of 40 points for their dance. "Team Future," which consisted of Laurie, Terra, Marilu and Jana, each added 35 points to their totals. In the end, we saw Jana and Maureen in jeopardy. And then Tom Bergeron announced Maureen had been eliminated. Next week: Halloween!

8 /10 2.0 Jennifer Lopez shows off her shapely figure in skintight jeans as she films on the New York set of Shades of Blue It was claimed last week that she split with her on again/off again toyboy Casper Smart in August 'because he cheated on her and he got caught.' But Jennifer Lopez is focusing on her work, and was spotted filming scenes for her gritty police drama Shades Of Blue on Monday. The 47-year-old star looked sexy as ever as she showcased her shapely figure in skintight black jeans on the New York set of the NBC show. The Golden Globe nominee was spotted shooting alongside co-stars Drea de Matteo, 44, and Vincent Laresca, 42. JLo's figure-hugging bottoms put the singer and performer's shapely posterior on full display. A black satin bomber jacket and lace-up leather ankle boots completed the Booty hit-maker's monochrome wardrobe. Her golden honey tresses were styled in perfectly-coiled tendrils and fell just past her shoulders. The former Sopranos star, who portrays Detective Tess Nazario, and Vincent, who plays Detective Carlos Espada, appeared to be bloodied during the scene the trio was filming. The American Idol judge alum plays a single mother and Det. Harlee Santos, a seemingly corrupt member of a team of Brooklyn lawmen led by 's sleazy Lt. Matt Wozniak, who often leads the team to step outside the limits of the law. In a twist, Santos is actually working as an informant for the force's anti-corruption unit. Jennifer's star power was enough to get the show renewed, despite lackluster ratings, and due to stiff competition on other channels, was one of the most time- shifted programs on television. When the renewal was announced NBC’s entertainment president Jennifer Salke said: 'We want to thank Jennifer, who is the hardest-working woman we know, for her incredible efforts as both the star and producer of this show.' Season two of Shades Of Blue is scheduled to hit screens on NBC midseason. And the mother-of-two proved she was ever the professional despite recent reports that the 29-year-old dance choreographer cheated on the superstar. 'She kicked him out because he cheated on her and he got caught,' an insider told People . 'It happened two years ago, and he promised he would never do it again and once he did, she was done.'

9 /10 1.7 Toowoomba surrogate gives birth to sister's daughter after unsuccessful IVF It was 10pm when Aimee Morrisby's sister rang her out of the blue and said, 'Let's have a baby'. Aimee, 26, had been trying for a child since the age of 21 but had been thwarted in her attempts by a ball of scar tissue sitting in her uterus. She was just getting used to the idea she would never have children when sister Shayna rang and offered the gift of a lifetime – to be a surrogate mother for her. Aimee, from Toowoomba, told Daily Mail Australia about the rollercoaster journey that ended with the birth of her healthy daughter, Francesca. 'My sister rang me at 10 o'clock one night and said let's have a baby. 'At this point me and Jake [Aimee's husband] had properly given up having children. 'The first words that came out of my mouth were, ''Are you sure''. 'Why would she put her life at risk to have a baby for me? I couldn't believe someone was going to risk everything for me.' As a child Aimee was diagnosed with Hirschsprung disease, a painful bowel condition which causes blockages in the large intestine. It was a trip to hospital to treat abdominal pain caused by the condition that lead to the discovery of scarring in her uterus. 'I was only 21 when I went into hospital with some pain. That's when I realised I had a lot of scarring in my reproductive area,' Aimee said. 'The doctor said if I was at a happy time in my life, I should get cracking having a baby.' What followed were eight painful rounds of IVF and four pregnancies that ended in miscarriage. Amy later learned that the 40-50 surgeries she had to treat her bowel condition had turned her uterus into a ball of scar tissue. 'I got to nine weeks with twins and I lost both of those. That's what stopped it all. 'I went and got some second opinions. I met with my bowel surgeon and he handed me a picture of what was supposed to be my uterus and it was a big ball of scar tissue. 'That's when I went back to my IVF specialist and he said to me, ''You're not going to get pregnant''.' Aimee and Jake had given up on children when sister Shayna, already a mother-of-two, stepped in and made her 'amazing' offer. 'She's amazing to do this,' Aimee said. 'As soon as she rang me and made the offer I handed in my resignation and moved to be closer to her.' Shayna was impregnated with one of Aimee's frozen embryos left over from the IVF process. Watching her sister go through the water birth of her daughter was an overwhelming experience, Aimee said. She added: 'Not only was I seeing my daughter enter the world, I was watching my sister give birth. There were two totally different emotions. 'When Francesca came out of the water and my husband cut the cord I couldn't move. I could not believe what she had just done.' Seven-month-old Francesca was now a 'thriving' baby girl and Shayna had bounced back to health quickly after the pregnancy. 'My biggest advice to mothers that are pushing themselves to the brink is that it is OK to stop trying in your own body,' Aimee said.
