Actors’ Shakespeare Project About: Actors’ Shakespeare Project believes Shakespeare’s words are urgently relevant to our times. Working as an ensemble of resident company members, we bring these words into the voices, bodies, and imaginations of our actors, audiences, and neighborhoods. We do this through creative projects, including intimate productions and outreach programs that are informed by the spaces in which they happen. These projects inspire civic dialogue, build relationships between people, strengthen communities, and reveal something about what it means to be human here and now. Season: After the heart-rending tale of Othello (under the direction of Bridget Kathleen O’Leary) kicks off at The Modern at , Melia Bensussen will graciously return to the director’s chair for The Winter’s Tale, a strange and beautiful play perfect to share with all ages over the holiday season. Next, Artistic Director Allyn Burrows will direct Richard II with a small and powerful cast. In the spring, we will wrap up the season with a delightful romp of a comedy, The School for Scandal, at the Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, under the director of company member Paula Plum.

Boston Public Works Theater Company About: Boston Public Works Theater Company is a band of playwrights who is going to forego the traditional routes for play development and produce one play by each of us, putting the power of production in the hands of the playwright. Season: Three original works. Hard and Fast: a love story, by Jess Foster; Citizens of the Empire: A Space Opera, by Kevin Mullens; and Unsafe, by Jim Dalglish.

Boston Theater Company About: Boston Theater Company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to preserving the messages and historical language of classical scripts while making them accessible for modern audiences. The three prongs of our mission are gender-blind casting, an innovative approach to our texts, and a robust education program. Casting regardless of gender allows us to always cast the most talented actors, and makes classical texts equally accessible for actors of all genders. Our approach to our texts involves rearranging dialogue and combining roles in order to tell classical stories dynamically while preserving the remaining original text. Finally, we offer educational programs for children of various ages, all based on the belief that theater and creative drama can unlock a child’s creativity and confidence. BTC consists of a team of young Boston-based artists who are passionate about collaboration, classical texts, and creating in fresh ways. Season: Upcoming we are producing a documentary play titled, Finish Line. This piece is designed to honor and remember those affected by the Marathon in 2013, this production will also focus on what followed in the ensuing months. It will end when survivors, runners and others crossed - or stood and cheered at - the finish line in 2014.

Over the past months a team interviewers have conducted over 90 interviews with survivors, runners, EMTs, doctors, police officers, students, journalist and clergy. Some notable interviews include, Police Commissioner William Evans, Chair of the department of Emergency medicine at Brigham and women (during the time of the bombings) Dr. Ron Allen, iconic photographer John Tlumacki, Fox 25 News Anchor Maria Stephanos, previous Marathon winner and Dana Farber team coach Jack Fultz, Executive Director of StageSource Julie Hennrikus and the CEO of 'Life is Good' John Jacobs.

BTC creative team will piece together the 90+ interviews for our fully produced production in April 2016.

Imaginary Beasts About: Imaginary Beasts is an incubator for adventurous theatre making. We provide our members a unique chance to explore and develop theatre in an ongoing studio environment. Devoted to pushing the boundaries of how theatre is made and who can make it, we bring together traditional and non-traditional performance artists to produce work for an eclectic public. Season: This season the beasts are in studio developing me*nag*er*ie, an original work inspired by Jorge Luis Borges’ The Book of Imaginary Beings. Audiences will be able to share in our process when we present our work at the Charlestown Working Theatre on November 13 and 14. The premiere of me*nag*er*ie will take place in spring, 2016. Of course our season would not be complete without our annual Winter Panto! This year we take our audiences somewhere over the rainbow when we put a topsy-turvy spin on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, playing January 8-30 at the Plaza Black Box Theatre, at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Improbable Players About: Improbable Players set the stage for prevention by educating the public about addiction prevention and the many possibilities of recovery through performances and theater workshops presented and taught by young actors in long-term recovery - that help people recognize situations in their own lives and seek the help they need. The Playwrights' Platform About: The Playwrights’ Platform is a non-profit Boston-area cooperative of playwrights, directors, and resident actors. For almost forty years, the Platform has helped develop new theater in greater Boston by providing a forum to explore the process of creating new dramatic work. We hold regular readings of new works and each summer we produce an annual festival of new plays written by our talented members. Season: Twice a month, from September through May, the group presents readings of new works by local playwrights at our meetings, which are free and open to the public. Each reading is followed by a lively discussion and feedback session. New members are welcomed and encouraged to participate through submitting plays or simply by attending readings. The Platform’s annual Summer Festival gives selected plays an opportunity for workshop-level staged production in a professional-quality theatre, allowing the scripts fuller development and exposure, and offering Boston audiences the opportunity to be part of the process of creating new dramatic work. Priscilla Beach Theatre About: Recently renovating and reopening our historic barn theatre, we want to introduce ourselves to the Boston area Theater scene. Spring 2016, we will be auditioning for our resident company theatre who will reside on our theatre campus and be a part of Summer Stock. Season: For Summer 2016, Priscilla Beach Theatre will be producing in July and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in August.

Puppet Showplace About: Puppet Showplace Theater is New England’s favorite puppetry destination. Each year, we present over 300 performances by professional puppet companies at our Brookline Village theater. Our touring shows travel to schools, libraries, and cultural centers throughout the Northeast region. We offer workshops, classes, summer camps, and training opportunities to both children and adults, and we partner with emerging artists to develop new work. After 40 years of operations, our theater has become a treasured cultural institution. Puppet Showplace is run by an experienced staff and volunteer board of trustees. Solas Nua in Boston About: Solas Nua is the only organization in the U.S. dedicated to promoting contemporary Irish arts. Since June 2014, Solas Nua in Boston has been presenting free staged readings of the best in Irish playwriting at The Burren in Davis Square, Somerville. We have worked with over 50 of the finest actors in the Boston area, have been featured on Dig Boston and WGBH, and won the Opus Affair Punch Bowl fund. We are presently fundraising for our first full production in 2016. Season: Pending fundraising goals, we are hoping to do three shows in 2016, with a first show in the Spring.

Sean Dorsey is an award-winning transgender and queer choreographer who has toured his work to 25 cities across the US. Theatre Community Benevolent Fund About: TCBF provides financial relief in a confidential, respectful manner to individual and non-profit organizational members of StageSource facing extreme illness, catastrophic acts of nature, and other events such vandalism/theft, and who have limited or no resources with which to handle such occurrences. The fund recognizes the essential value of artists and arts organizations to society, and treats all applicants with dignity, discretion, and compassion.

Based in Berkshire County, , WAM Theatre was co-founded in 2010 by Canadian director, actor, educator, and producer Kristen van Ginhoven to create professional theatrical events for everyone, with a focus on women theatre artists and/or stories of women and girls.
