The message of Our Lady was renewed this past October 2019. Bishop John Ito approved the supernatural nature of this event and the messages on April 22, 1984 It began, in 1973 with 101 instances of a statue of Mary bleeding and weeping followed by messages of from Guardian Angel and Our Lady to Sr Sasagawa DECEMBER 1975 Her Guardian Angel: "Do not be surprised to see the Blessed ​ Virgin weeping. She weeps because she wishes the conversion of the greatest number. She desires that souls be consecrated to Jesus September 28, 1981 Her Guardian Angel explained the meaning of the weeping statue: "There is a meaning to the figure 101 (the ​ number of times the statue wept). This signifies that sin came into the world by a woman and it is also by a woman that salvation came into the world. The zero between the two signifies the Eternal God who is from all eternity until eternity. The first one represents Eve, and the last, the Virgin Mary." 2 The Messages AUGUST 3, 1973 Mary revealed to Sr Sasagawa "My daughter, my novice, do you love the Lord? If you love the ​ Lord, listen to what I have to say to you...Many men in this world afflict the Lord. I desire souls to console Him to soften the anger of the Heavenly Father. I wish, with my Son, for souls who will repair by their suffering and their poverty for the sinners and ingrates." "In order that the world might know His anger, the Heavenly Father is preparing to inflict a great chastisement on all mankind. With my Son I have intervened so many times to appease the wrath of the Father. I have prevented the coming of calamities by offering Him the sufferings of the Son on the Cross, His Precious Blood, and beloved souls who console Him forming a cohort of victim souls. Prayer, penance and courageous sacrifices can soften the Father's anger…Offer in reparation (whatever God may send) for sins. Let each one endeavor, according to capacity and position, to offer herself entirely to the Lord." 3 October 13, 1973 "As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests." What is the purpose of the message about chastisements? God does not need to punish us ● God leaves mankind free ● Good choices result in good consequences while evil choices cause evil consequences to good and bad alike ● War; famine; persecution of the good The Purpose of the Message of Chastisement is this: ● The future is not irrevocably set, ● we can change world events and save souls, ● if we answer the call of Our Lady 4 October 13 Mary then warned of the impending dangers for the Church "The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. "The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them" "Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamites which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved." 1977 Pope St. Paul VI “The tail of the devil is functioning in the ​ ​ disintegration of the Catholic world. The darkness of Satan has entered and spread throughout the Catholic Church even to its summit. Apostasy, loss of faith, is spreading throughout the world and into its highest levels in the Church.” 5 What is Mary asking of us? 1. Consecrate yourself to Mary and live the consecration by living a personal relationship with Mary in imitation of Jesus’ relationship with her 2. Pray the Rosary every day. a. On October 6, 2019, a new message was given to Sr ​ Sasagawa, which states: “Cover yourself in ashes” (Do acts of penance and reparation for the sins of the world) and please pray the Penitential Rosary every day. 3. Personal conversion by a daily examination of conscience and frequent confession 4. Accepting Your Own Cross o What you did not choose, do not like and cannot change, Accept it with trust and unite it to the Cross of Jesus, to bring about the final defeat of Satan and the salvation of souls. 5. Lead people to Mary who will lead them to Jesus ● San Nicolas Argentina, December 30, 1989, Jesus said: “Before, the world was saved by means of Noah’s Ark; ​ today the Ark is My Mother. Through her, souls will be saved, because she will bring them toward me.” .

She is beloved in Poland as Our Lady of Czestochowa, in Ireland as Our Lady of Knock, and in Japan as Our Lady of Akita. Mary is revered by the people in Bosnia-Herzegovina as Our Lady of Medugorje, and in Spain, she is treasured as Our Lady of the Pillar. Mary is known in France as Our Lady of Lourdes, and in Portugal as Our Lady of Fatima. When the liturgical year 2005-06 began on the first Sunday of Advent, 27 November 2005, with the Gospel of Mark as the Sunday Gospel, I decided to begin a study of it, in order to learn more about it and understand it better, and, hopefully, to be able to preach better on it at Sunday Mass. I also hoped that this study would be of benefit to me in my faith. It was never on my mind, then or now, that it be published. It is not good enough for that. I have had no formal training in scripture studies, other than what I learned in preparing for the priesthood. Mostly, it has been a matter of what I learned in later years from reflection in daily prayer and personal study, of which I did a good deal. It took me more than a year to complete the study of Mark, but I found that it carried me along, and I wanted to bring it to completion. I was glad to be able to do that early in 2007. The finished product I printed and bound principally for my own use, simply to make it 4 easier to refer to for study or preaching.

PAGLIAROLI There are many people who feel that the ability to maintain an enchanted religious worldview has become increasingly difficult for American and Canadian Catholics in the years following the Second Vatican Council. Proponents of this view have often pointed to three different factors to support their claim. These include the notion that heightened diabolical activity from Satan and his minions is luring people away from knowing and perceiving the action of God’s grace in their life; that living in a predominantly secular and materialistic culture has devalued the mystical and the merits of religion; and lastly, that the modernization of the Catholic Church, mainly as a result of the reforms of the Second Vatican council, has made it increasingly difficult for people to perceive the propinquity of the sacred within the Church. Those who note the last factor, often suggest that architectural changes, the use of the vernacular language, and the gradual suppression of paraliturgical activities and personal sacramental objects such as rosaries, scapulars, religious medals, and so forth, has functioned to de- emphasize the immediacy of the supernatural within Catholicism.1 While Catholicism may seem less mysterious and enchanted to certain church going Catholics, especially those born before Vatican II, there exists, beyond the walls of the parish church and outside of standard liturgical celebrations, a Catholic culture made up of different movements that is driven by a desire to re-awaken what it perceives is a 1 The following represents a summary of responses given by various Canadian and American Catholics interviewed by the author.
