Results from the 2018 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey1 indicate that 68% of Federal employees government-wide felt an overall sense of engagement based on three categories: leadership, supervisor relationship, and their roles in the workplace. The Office of Personnel Management defines engagement as “An employee’s sense of purpose that is evident in their display of dedication, persistence and effort in their work or overall attachment to their organization and its mission.” This year, FAPAC will leverage the compelling mission of public service by equipping government leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to continue increasing employee engagement and make our communities better places to live and work. FAPAC is a nonprofit, T nonpartisan organization representing the civilian and military Asian Pacific American (APA) employees in the Federal and District of Columbia governments. APAC is organized exclusively for educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of F the Internal Revenue Code. The primary purpose of FAPAC is to serve as an interagency association within the Federal and District of Columbia governments, providing a focus for over thirty ethnically distinct groups originating from Asian and Pacific regions as recognized by the United States Bureau of Census. MISSION APAC is an organization that promotes equal opportunity and cultural diversity for APAs within the F Federal and District of Columbia governments. FAPAC encourages the participation and advancement of APAs in the government workforce. VISION APAC will be a nationally recognized organization that serves as a conduit through which the F interests, issues and representation of APAs in the Federal and District of Columbia governments are addressed. This dissertation explores the musical relationship between these two troubled countries and aims to explain the similarities and differences in their approaches to collective singing. The discussion of the very complex and problematic relationship between the German left and the Soviet government sets the framework for the analysis of music. Beginning in late 1920s, as a result of Stalin’s abandonment of the international revolutionary cause, the divergences between the policies of the Soviet government and utopian aims of the German communist party can be traced in the musical propaganda of both countries.

    Testimony of Marty Irby Executive Director Animal Wellness Action before the U.S. House Subcommittee on Commerce and Consumer Protection H.R. 1754, "The Horseracing Integrity Act" January 28, 2020 On behalf of Animal Wellness Action, one of the nation's leading animal protection organizations on Capitol Hill, I submit this testimony in support of H.R. 1754, the Horseracing Integrity Act. I express my sincere thanks to Chair Jan Schakowsky and Ranking Member Cathy McMorris Rodgers for conducting this hearing and offer special thanks to Representatives Paul Tonko, and, Andy Barr for introducing this reform effort. I also express thanks to Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Frank Pallone and Ranking Member Greg Walden for their participation in this process. This hearing builds on the testimony and other information gathered during the 2018 hearing conducted before the Subcommittee on H.R. 2651 in the 115th Congress. I first want to underscore that Animal Wellness Action does not oppose horseracing. We join with many horse owners, breeders, trainers, and racing enthusiasts in speaking out on the broader topic of the protection of horses within the American horseracing industry and across the greater equine world. We seek to promote the proper stewardship of horses at every stage of their lives, including during their racing careers. We are deeply concerned about on- and off- track risks to the horses, including catastrophic injuries sustained during racing. America was built on the backs of horses, and they have always played a central role in the economy and culture of the United States. We owe them a debt of gratitude, and the very least we must do is ensure their safety, welfare, and protection.

The photos depicted images of U.S. soldiers engaged in torture and cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment.! Among other things, the photos documented the sexual abuse and humiliation of Iraqi detainees in the prison.' The photographs depict naked detainees, some of whom were forced to engage in sex acts or simulated sex acts.3 Sworn statements of the detainees at Abu Ghraib reveal a pattern of abuse and degradation, including "details of how they were sexually humiliated and assaulted, threatened with rape, t.     Does the Law Work? Global Exploitation and Willful Ignorance of International Tribunals/Courts and Their Lack of Effectiveness in Adjudicating Justice and Reconciliation in International Criminal Law Justine Taylor Robinson Haverford College Political Science Department Thesis Advisor: Professor Thomas Donahue Senior Thesis April 21, 2017 1 Abstract: This thesis examines how the international criminal law system (ICLS) has so far failed to be an effective and impartial deterrent to those nation-states/governments who enact some of the most grievous crimes imaginable: genocide and torture. These crimes are displayed in two case studies to show the failure of the ICLS in stopping these violations of human rights and ethics. Moreover, the target perpetrator in these case studies will be the United States government, and how they both failed and abused their status as a powerful nation state to disregard and/or violated international criminal law in Rwanda and Iraq (Abu Ghraib Prison). Two major reforms are proposed in this thesis. First, the creation of a mobile tribunal/court system that would go to any nation state or victimized group that has submitted a report of ICLS violations, along with a security unit that would be dispatched to keep the peace and aid to the local people. Second, to make sure that reconciliation and justice are achieved at all cost, and employing human rights experts to “keep the peace” and send status reports to the central command of the tribunal/court system. These are solutions to help imagine the most efficient system of international criminal law, grant justice to those who need it most and to punish those who have purposefully ignored or violated the principles/laws of the ICLS.
