Did you know? Coat of Arms of Norway: The National Coat of Arms dates from the Middle Ages and features an upright, yellow crowned lion rampant, holding a white and yellow axe on a red, triangle-shaped field.

It's one of the oldest in all of Europe and originated as a personal coat of arms for the royal family. After slight adjustments over time, the current version shown was approved by the King of Norway on May 20, 1992. March 2018 THE NORDEN CLUB OF LINCOLN PAGE 6

OBITUARY FOR INGRID HANSEN Ingrid Marie Ellingsgaard Hansen died peacefully July 14, 2018 due to complications of a stroke. She was born October 14, 1933 in Esbonderup, Denmark, the daughter of Anton and Ella (Thomsen) Pedersen. Following graduation from high school, Ingrid moved to Copenhagen where her ability to speak several languages allowed her to work the international switchboard at the telephone company. It was in Copenhagen she met Erik Hansen at a dance. They married April 19, 1958 and moved to the United States shortly after, settling in Lincoln. Her first job here was at Miller and Paine as an elevator operator. She babysat, worked for Manpower and Lincoln Liberty Life/Lifeshares and handled the accounting for the family business, MIE Builders. Ingrid honored her Danish heritage by joining the Danish Sisterhood and remained active with Lodge #90, making lifelong friends. She was also involved with Order of the Eastern Star Starcraft # 307, Daughters of the Nile Naphis Temple 66, Sesostris Shrine Novice Corp, Norden Club, Kensington, Dance Club and the monthly Sewing Club she started in 1968 and continued throughout her life. Ingrid enjoyed traveling all over the United States, back to Denmark and around the world. She was a great cook who loved to host Christmas lunch for family and friends. She loved playing cards. She will be remembered as a gracious host who enjoyed making delicious new recipes for her 'guinea pig' family and friends. She was a lover of animals, especially her adopted cat Oslo.

Ingrid is greatly missed by her son Mike and his wife Julie, and her favorite grandson, Jules, all of Lincoln; sister Tove and nieces Annette and Charlotte of Denmark; sisters-in-law Inga and Thea; and many friends. Ingrid was preceded in death by her husband Erik, sister Petra, brother Pauli, sister-in-law Olga, and brothers- in-law Gunnar and Laurits. Skol Ingrid. Mange tak.
