Detectives Riggs (Gibson) and Murtaugh (Glover) foil a bank robbery in which the criminals are armed with police weapons and armor piercing ‘cop killer’ bullets. Their investigation leads to a vicious ex-cop dealing in stolen police guns. The Internal Affairs Dept. is already on the case, and resents the interference of Riggs and Murtaugh.
