It is because our club is changing as life is. It seems that with a lot of clubs the new members are joining but not participating. The older members have the enthusiasm and the knowledge but not energy. So the question I ask is to all members’ young and old what direction should we travel or steps to take to see that our club does stays healthy and survives. November is elections night and Ernie McNaughton [250 573 5965] is the Chair of the Nominating Committee. Don’t wait until the committee calls you about being on the 2016 Executive. Give them a call and be one of the first to volunteer. We need your offer of help so tomorrow morning after reading this I challenge each and every one of you as you are looking in the mirror to start your day by asking yourself “What can I do in a small way to make the club more fun for me and my family to want to participate and to help the club be successful and survive into the future?” The next two pages list the members and the jobs they have [*Elected] *President: - Guide the club for the calendar year. Has club signing authority along with Treasure and Secretary Over see any awards or presentations. *Vice President: - Assist president with club activities Run Meetings if President absent Provide Entertainment at the meetings Past President: - Guide & assist president Chairman of the Nominating Committee along with a Director [2nd term] plus Membership Chair *Secretary: - Record minutes of General and Executive Meetings. Write letters and answer correspondence if necessary *Treasurer: - Record the finances and pay bills of the club Provide financial statement to the club in February Part of the Finance Committee *Directors [8]:- A two year term position. Four elected each year Different jobs and positions One director serving 2nd term to be on Nominating Committee *Governor: - [Two year term][Alternate opposite years] Represent our Chapter at the two annual VCCC National Meetings Coffee: - Provide coffee & doughnuts at the General Meetings Cruise Nights: - Responsible for Thursday night Cruises [June, July, August] E Mails: - Send out e mails as necessary Finance Committee [3 members]: - Treasurer, and two members. Oversee club investments Finance/Review: - Review Chapter books annually. Garage Tours [2]: - Usually one in the Spring and another in the Fall. Historian/Photo Albums: - Record activities and happenings of the chapter Hot Nite In The City: - Represent our club on HNITC committee. Kamshaft Editor: - Supply chapter with at least 10 issues of news letter annually. Membership: - Record membership Introduce new members and guests at general meetings Member of the Nominating committee Try to get information regarding new members for Kamshaft Parade Chair: - Decide on which parades to attend as a club and organize times & dates. Phoning Committee: - Contact members without e mails in regard to club activities. Property Chair: - Maintain the safety of the club vehicles and trailers Regalia & 50/50: - Sell tickets for 50/50 at meetings & Order and sell club regalia Sunshine: - See that club members get cards at time of need. Swap Meet Chair: - Responsibility of the Swap Meet. The Vintage Car Reporter: - Provides the Vintage Car Magazine with current Kamloops Chapter activities 4 LETTERS to the EDITOR & CLUB Letter received by Dick Parkes: - Dear Dick & Car Club members. Congratulations on a job well done and I am pleased you are getting out and about in the ambulance. With all that time and work you must be very proud and glad to the end of the project. I bet she turns heads when she goes down the road. I was very pleased to receive a “Certificate of Appreciation” for my little input to this wonderful restoration.     YE OLDE CAR CLUB YEAR 2013 Ye Olde Car Club of the Tri-Cities was officially chartered in 1963 to preserve and maintain motor vehicles of historical value and to serve as an accurate and technical source of information concerning historical automobiles for the benefit of its members as well as the general public. Ye Olde Car Club is headquartered in Kennewick, Washington and has members primarily from Southeast Washington, Western Washington, Idaho and Alaska -- over a hundred individuals and families with nearly 400 antique and classic automobiles. Aside from regular monthly meetings, club members participate in frequent community and social events, driving tours both short and long, and a variety of activities each month. Annual dues are only $15, with the only membership requirement being an appreciation for historical automobiles. As an old car club, we are also there to guide you when you decide to buy an old car, help you to restore it, share stories about your car, and provide whatever it takes to see that owning an old car is an enjoyable experience for you! Our club has among it's members a wealth of knowledge about the auto industry that we would love to share with you. Some of our members usually can be found at the 2500 Queensgate Sterlings Restaurant in Richland at 8am on Wednesdays. Come and say "Hi".
