Well, it is time again to take off the car protectors and get the cars ready for the open road. I have already seen a few cars out and about and look forward to seeing everyone doing the same by attending the Easter Parade. I personally can't wait to get the Bel Air up and going again. I can tell you that the Swap Meet is almost ready, and that we have some other exciting Spring functions planned. Being a member based club it would be great to see everyone get involved - a large amount of time has been spent planning these events and it will be great to see the regular faces and the not so regular faces in attendance. The ambulance is coming along with additions noticeable gains to the restoration every week, and I would like to thank the dedicated work being done every week by the team. We can all say with great pride that this is another fine restoration worthy of great pride in our work. Happy & Safe Vintage Motoring. Tim and his First Lady Barb 1 LETTERS to the EDITOR Nice to see the story about Ed Shaw. DP Great job on the Kamshaft. Lots of input for the month of February. The colour also really helps WELL DONE. KB Thank you ....I really like the calendar to inform me of club events coming up. SB & JM Some interesting web sites to look at for cars and things for sale. www.kijiji.com, www.castanet.net, www.jalopyjunction.com, and of course our club web page for cars & parts www.VCCC.com. A sign of the times is that the Kamloops Malls no longer seem to have money in their budgets for Car Shows as this year we do not have any shows scheduled. Having no Wedding Cars and Mall Shows this means quite a loss of funds for the club. If you have any suggestions in replacing this loss of income for the club contact your executive. I have been contacted by Peter Findlay [VCCC Web Master] wondering if our club members ever look at the VCCC Club web page. I will check at the next meeting to see how many have looked at it recently and ask for comments. June 12-14th Week end driving tour is our 3rd Annual Carl Jurriett Back Road Tour [Canadian Passports required] this year John has arranged for the tour to travel to Winthrop, WA. It is definitely a driving tour. If your name is listed it would be nice if you and your spouse could attend the meeting to receive your pins in person. We currently have 88 members and the average year of membership is 17 years. That is a lot of experience and says something for our club as I sure a lot of other chapters and clubs do not have such a record. 5 yrs [15 members 1 – 5 yrs.] 15 yrs Steve & Susie Bell Bob & Carol Anderson Jack & Ruth Winkelaar Del & Claudine Basaraba Sid Cope 20 yrs [12 members 11 – 20- yrs.] Bill & Carol Duffus Alan & Susan Havisto Kris & Elyssa Krutop Dick & Hazel Rempel 30 yrs [14 members 21 – 30 yrs.] Ken & Lorraine Finnigan 10 yrs [29 members 6 – 10 yrs.] Ken & Norma McCormick John & Niki Bone Don & Diane Moyer Andre & Carol Cordonier Percy & Beverly Shymkiw John & Lila Foley Jake & Jan Surline Bob & Michele Gieselman John & Linda Rostron 40 yrs [16 members 31 plus yrs.] William Shurvell Jack & Ollie Woolard Tim & Barb Wourms 10 Tips to Keep Metal Shiny This article is submitted for Virgil Lysgaard as I understand he has lots of polishing of chrome to do on his 1956 Packard. 1.
