PAGE 26 A LIFETIME OF SERVICE | RICHARD L. MITCHELL (1938 – 2007) Roosevelt University Alumnus Richard L. Mitchell (BSBA, ’65), who parlayed his education at Roosevelt into a successful marketing career, has left his $646,000 estate to the University. Mitchell, who passed away in 2007, was a 1956 graduate of Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, Ill. He majored in marketing at Roosevelt, graduating in 1965, and received a master’s degree from the University of Chicago in 1967. Mitchell worked for many companies before landing a job at Venture, a division of May Company, where he was vice president of marketing. After retiring, he lived in the Chicago area, caring for his mother, Rose Elizabeth Haymes, who had Alzheimer’s disease, until her death in 2000.
