Academic Leadership Training Programme. Venue: Kaliachak College, Sultanganj, Malda, W.B.

A week long Academic Leadership Training Programme under the aegis of UGC, HRDC, CALEM,

Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh was held at the venue of Kaliachak College, Sultanganj, Malda from 26th

April 2019 to 2nd May 2019 which was inaugurated on the initial day at 10.00 am in the Conference Room of the college.

On the 26th April at 10 AM the inaugural programme was started with the felicitation of the guests. The programme was inaugurated by the Guest of Honour, Prof. Swagata Sen, Honourable Vice Chancellor,

University of Gour Banga. Dr. Abu Naser Khan Choudhury, the Hon’ble President, Governing Body, Kaliachak

College was the Chief Guest. Dr. Nazibar Rahaman, Pricipal, Kaliachak College and the programme

Coordinator chaired the session. In his welcome address he pointed out the necessity of such programme in this region. He expressed deep sense of thanks to Prof A R Kidwai the Director and Prof Faiza Abbasi the Assistant

Director of UGC HRDC, Aligarh Muslim University for their support and cooperation for the development of the teaching community. Dr. Khan Choudhury in his speech emphasised on the employability of the passed out youths. However, Prof. Sen in his inaugural speech highlighted the problems of the higher educational institutes in this region of the country. Dr Ramashawai Ganeshan and Dr Shusma Ganeshan were present among the dignitaries.

The Participants: Initially target of this programme was the head of the higher Educational Institutes namely the Principals, Teacher-in-Charges, Vice Chancellors, Registrar, Controllers, members of the Board of Studies and the members of the Administrative Bodies. Altogether 42 participants from all over West Bengal

Every day the participants were served the breakfast before the start of the technical session in the morning and

Lunch were served at 1-2.00 PM. Food were cooked in the college premises so that the fresh and quality food may be to the served the participants. Tea was also served in two shifts one in morning and another in the afternoon session.

On the 2nd May 2019 the last day of the training programme in the post lunch session there was a feedback session. The programme coordinator served the feedback form to all the participants and collected the feedback.

The valedictory session was chaired by Dr Nazibar Rahaman, Principal of the college and Md Ezazul Hoque, the Governing Body Member of the college was the Chief Guest of the programme. He praised the Principal for organizing such programme and praised the CALEM, UGC HRDC for allowing it to the college. In the valedictory session the coordinator suggested the participants to apply the lesson learnt in the week long training programme. He also suggested to keep contact so that if anybody faces any problem to implement the knowledge they may find out a solution by discussion among themselves.
