By Katie Green Nike Huaraches The shoes that everyone has started to buy are ‘Nike Huaraches’. This shows that they are becoming very popular. The people that are buying these shoes are teenagers. Huar- aches may be a little expensive depending on what colours you have, you can custom- ise your own but they will be the maximum of £110 if you buy from the proper ‘Nike’ store. However if your birthday or a special event is coming up then you should give a few hints to your parents. They make you feel like you have feathers on your feet The “TopShop” for Teenagers where they are so light compared to other Topshop is a very popular clothing shop. Many teenagers go there to see what the latest is in. This shop is linked to two different types ‘Topshop’ is for women’s/girls and ‘top man’ is for men. There are over 300 shops in the UK. They ship to more than 100 countries and our eclectic British style is known all over the world. In Topshop’s defense, they don’t act like a giant brand that is too exclusivist to be interested in harvesting potential talent; they are very supportive of young designers and have invested in their development, giving them a chance to create for a popular brand that gets their work out there to a wide audience that automatically filters the good from the less interesting. Pandora is Charming Pandora is a very popular design. Many peo- ple buy from this category. They buy from Pandora for presents, themselves. However men wouldn’t buy from Pandora as its all ladies jewellery (necklaces, rings, bracelets, charms). The price range for earrings start from £19.00 and work up to over £250+.. However all Pandora jewellery is like this. This is because its either sterling silver, Rose gold or real gold. The silver is the cheaper one of the items. Then the rose gold and the gold would be the most expensive. Pandora stuff is very beautiful. Wooooo What a Winner is Jenner Kylie Jenner has a very unique sense of style — especially compared to her famous family! While her older sisters love getting glam, Kylie’s look is more edgy and dressed down — but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t look up them. In fact, in an interview with People she admitted that Kim and Kanye is constantly inspiring her. “The people who really inspire my style-wise are obviously Kim and Kanye,” she said. Given their distinct look and close-knit fashion connections we aren’t surprised Kylie can’t get enough of their looks. While Kim and Kanye may be famous, Kylie’s style is just as captivating — especially on Instagram! “I am definitely conscious of it. It is a little intimidating to look good all the time, but I just try to make outfits and meet with my stylist Monica Rose. We will just talk and collaborate. We will throw ideas around and talk about the stuff that we like. So it’s really cool. Some people just follow me because I post a lot of outfits and shoes and jew- ellery,” she said. Although she knows how to turn it up on the red carpet, she also loves dressing down. “I always wear boxers and a huge T-shirt and just eat everything. I don’t have one favourite — it’s just whatever I can find that’s big and comfy. I like to give my face a break from makeup and just wear comfortable clothes. • Ideal Homes? Social Change and Domestic Life
IDEAL HOMES? Until now, the ‘home’ as a space within which domestic lives are lived out has been largely ignored by sociologists. Yet the ‘home’ as idea, place and object consumes a large proportion of individuals’ incomes, and occupies their dreams and their leisure time while the absence of a physical home presents a major threat to both society and the homeless themselves. This edited collection provides for the first time an analysis of the space of the ‘home’ and the experiences of home life by writers from a wide range of disciplines, including sociology, criminology, psychology, social policy and anthropology. It covers a range of subjects, including gender roles, different generations’ relationships to home, the changing nature of the family, transition, risk and alternative visions of home. Ideal Homes? provides a fascinating analysis which reveals how both popular images and experiences of home life can produce vital clues as to how society’s members produce and respond to social change. Tony Chapman is Head of Sociology at the University of Teesside. Jenny Hockey is Senior Lecturer in the School of Comparative and Applied Social Sciences, University of Hull. IDEAL HOMES? • ARTISTS ACROSS the DECADES the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Coldplay
ARTISTS ACROSS THE DECADES The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, ColdPlay P. S. Priya Shukla 9th December 2018 Abstract For the following website, I researched about three bands: 1. The Beatles 2. The Rolling Stones 3. Coldplay Through the research, I was able to understand how the bands were formed, how they became popular and how they impacted the society and/or the music industry. The following documentation allows the reader a better understanding about these bands. It includes a brief back story of how each band formed, outlines their most popular songs and also talks about their impact. Contents Contents i List of Figures ii 1 The Beatles 1 2 The Rolling Stones 2 2.1 .................................... 4 3 Coldplay 4 3.1 .................................... 6 i List of Figures ii 1 The Beatles The Beatles are a famous English rock band who got together in Liverpool, England during the 1960s. The band, formally called the Quarrymen orthe Sliver Beatles is formed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Gorge Harrison and Ringo Starr. Lennon and McCartney who first performed together in Liverpool in 1957, were the ones who started forming the band. The group got bigger because of a shared enthusiasm for American rock and roll. Lennon, a guitarist and singer and McCartney a bassist and singer have mostly self taught themselves and became such musicians. The band later added a drummer, Pete Best and joined a small but booming “beat music” scene, first in Liverpool and then during small visits between 1960 and 1962 in Hamburg. In 1964, the Beatles were at the top of the charts in the UK, but only recently did they start to attract audiences overseas with songs from their first two albums, “Please Please Me” and “With the Beatles”.

It seems like only yesterday I was talking about adders – now I’m starting to think about lighting the boiler! IN THIS ISSUE: The weather this summer has been variable to say the very least. I suppose it has been a typical English summer. However, most importantly Welcome it stayed fine for the summer BBQ and despite dire warnings of freezing Summer BBQ winds it was pleasantly balmy! We have had lots of compliments from visitors about the new Information Barn displays, but these tend to come from first‐time visitors and returning visitors have said they regret the loss of the tree and stuffed animals. We will, over the autumn and winter be further ‘personalising’ the displays – such as dressing the area around the deer with branches and bringing the birds down from the beams so they can be easily seen.

RECORD DREAMS 50 Hallucinations and Visions of Rare and Strange Vinyl Vinyl, to: vb. A neologism that describes the process of immersing yourself in an antique playback format, often to the point of obsession - i.e. I’m going to vinyl at Utrecht, I may be gone a long time. Or: I vinyled so hard that my bank balance has gone up the wazoo. The end result of vinyling is a record collection, which is defned as a bad idea (hoarding, duplicating, upgrading) often turned into a good idea (a saleable archive). If you’re reading this, you’ve gone down the rabbit hole like the rest of us. What is record collecting? Is it a doomed yet psychologically powerful wish to recapture that frst thrill of adolescent recognition or is it a quite understandable impulse to preserve and enjoy totemic artefacts from the frst - perhaps the only - great age of a truly mass art form, a mass youth culture? Fingering a particularly juicy 45 by the Stooges, Sweet or Sylvester, you could be forgiven for answering: fuck it, let’s boogie! But, you know, you’re here and so are we so, to quote Double Dee and Steinski, what does it all mean? Are you looking for - to take a few possibles - Kate Bush picture discs, early 80s Japanese synth on the Vanity label, European Led Zeppelin 45’s (because of course they did not deign to release singles in the UK), or vastly overpriced and not so good druggy LPs from the psychedelic fatso’s stall (Rainbow Ffolly, we salute you)? Or are you just drifting, browsing, going where the mood and the vinyl takes you? That’s where Utrecht scores.
