Doch eigentlich war das BEAST nie wirklich vom Radar verschwunden. Schon kurz nach der Trennung von seiner ehemaligen Band BATTLE BEAST konnte BEAST IN BLACK-Gründer Anton Kabanen neue Gefährten um sich versammeln: den unglaublich variablen Sänger Yannis Papadopoulos (WARDRUM), Bassist Mate Molnar (WISDOM), Gitarrist Kasperi Heikkinen (U.D.O.) und zu guter Letzt Schlagzeuger Atte Palokangas (THUNDERSTONE), der Anfang 2018 Sami Hänninen offiziell ersetzte. Den Kompositionsstil fortführend, den er bereits mit BATTLE BEAST verfolgt hatte, schuf Kabanen erneut geradezu süchtig machendes Songmaterial, das vor allem durch seine gnadenlose Energie bestach. Allen voran die erste Single, 'Blind And Frozen', die sofort durch die Decke ging und die mit dem dazugehörigen Musikvideo, das in nur einem Jahr zig Million Mal auf YouTube aufgerufen worden ist, die Latte direkt hoch legte. Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: »Berserker« wurde von Antons alten und neuen Anhängern sowie von Fans der Anime-Serie »Berserk«, von der Anton besonders viel Inspiration bezieht, äußerst gut angenommen. Selbst bekannte Musiker wie NIGHTWISHs Tuomas Holopainen („Man muss schon total verrückt sein, um dieses Album nicht zu lieben.“) oder HELLOWEENs/GAMMA RAYs Kai Hansen fanden anerkennende Worte für BEAST IN BLACKs Debütwerk.

    BEAST IN BLACK 09. März 2019 Stuttgart Im Wizemann European Tour 2019 „Eine neue Ära kommt auf uns zu. Das neugeborene BEAST sinnt Rache und steigt entschlossen aus dem Abgrund empor, um seine unerreichte Heavy Metal-Raserei auf die Welt loszulassen!“ Die Metalwelt war in Aufruhr als sich die Wege von Anton Kabanen und seiner ehemaligen Band Battle Beast 2015 trennten. „Einfach gesagt: Wenn eine Etappe endet, beginnt eine neue. Ist das nicht so? Wir hatten unterschiedliche Vorstellungen und wollten diese auf verschiedene Art und Weise erreichen. Ich lebe für die Musik und werde auch dafür sterben. Basta“, kommentiert Anton die Entscheidung. „Lasst mich eine Person zitieren, die einst etwas gesagt hat, was alles zusammenfasst: ‚Kunst ist keine Frage des „Könnens“, sondern des „Müssens“.‘ Und wenn man diesen Kompromiss eingehen muss, fühlt es sich an, als ob sich das Herz mit Gift füllt.“ Aber es dauerte nicht lange, ehe Anton wieder im Geschäft war: Nur wenige Monate später wurde ein fünfköpfiges Monstrum in Helsinki aus der Taufe gehoben - das BEAST IN BLACK. Anton fährt fort: „Für mich war Battle Beast lediglich ein Anfang, meine erste Vision, mein erstes Schaffen, und ich freue mich wirklich zu sehen, wie gut es für Battle Beast läuft, obwohl die Vision von jener der ersten drei Platten abweicht. Doch nun ist die Zeit gekommen, der ursprünglichen Vision wieder Leben einzuhauchen, sie stärker als je zuvor zu machen - und das gemeinsam mit meinen Kameraden in BEAST IN BLACK!“ Die Truppe begann umgehend nach ihrer Gründung mit den Arbeiten an ihrem Debütwerk und erhielt 2015 eine Chance, für die andere Bands ihr letztes Hemd geben würden: BEAST IN BLACK gaben ihr Livedebüt als Opener der weltbekannten finnischen Symphonic Metaller Nightwish.
