Information

The National Scout Jamboree will be held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. This is an all new National Jamboree emphasizing high adventure activities. Be one of the first Scouts to experience all this site has to offer including whitewater rafting, zip-lining, rappelling, mountain biking, hiking, and more.

Dates: (Tentative) July 13 – July 25, 2013 including Tour Jamboree dates are July 15 - July 24, 2013

Cost: $2,800 (estimated) for Scouts (same as 2010 National Jamboree) $2,400 (estimated) for Leaders

The fee includes all expenses except uniforms (2 complete uniforms required) and spending money for tour and Jamboree. Jamboree hat, patches, and T-Shirts are included in the fee.

Tour: There will be a tour of Washington DC prior to the Jamboree.

Our Contingent: Three Troops of 36 Scouts and 4 Leaders; 120 total

Eligibility: Scouts must be First Class, have completed 6th grade or be 12 years of age by July 15, 2013, but not have reached their 18th birthday by July 24, 2013. They must have a current BSA membership, must meet the minimum physical standards (see Jamboree website) and complete a Personal Health and Medical Record form, and participate in pre-Jamboree troop meetings and the pre-Jamboree camping weekend.

Scouts from all over the world attend Kandersteg and it has been described as a continuous mini World Jamboree. Crew 27, which is sponsored by the San Francisco Bay Area Council International Committee, will be spending almost two weeks at Kandersteg hiking in the Alps, crossing glaciers, taking trains to the “top of Europe”, sightseeing Switzerland using our Swiss BENEFITS AND AMENITIES rail passes, and meeting and doing activities with Scouts from other countries.  Pregame parade for uniformed scouts & leaders .
