What Are the SHIP (CRF) Coronavirus Relief Funds for?

If you lost a job or significant income due to impacts from the pandemic, you may qualify for financial assistance for mortgage payments and buy downs, assistance for insurance deductibles, foreclosure prevention or emergency home repairs during the period starting March 1, 2020.

You can only apply for assistance to cover coronavirus-related costs (directly or indirectly) that have not already been paid for by insurance or by another federal program.

How it works:

Applications are available at the Hamilton County Coordinator’s Office located in the Hamilton County Courthouse Annex (old High School), 1153 US Hwy 41 NW, Suite 2, Jasper. You may also request an application be emailed in pdf format.

Applications will be processed on a daily basis and is first come first qualified.

Assistance is available Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM by calling 386- 855-2950 or for general questions 386-792-6639. If your call is not answered, please leave a brief message and the nature of your call and it will be returned.

Upon approval of your application, all payments will go directly to the eligible insurance, mortgage lender. You WILL NOT receive a direct payment. If you are applying for emergency repairs, your home will be evaluated and bid out to the appropriate contractor for assistance. The contractor will be payed directly for the repairs.

Please note: Assistance requests will be processed as quickly as possible. Due to the widespread impact of the pandemic on our local community, we anticipate a high volume of requests. Please do not call to check on the status of your request as this will slow down our process of approving and distributing assistance.
