Das alles kommt mit 8-Seiten Booklet und in einer schönen Box und soll zum Preis unterhalb der DVD (was das auch heissen mag) erhältlich sein. BORKNAGAR mit Wiederveröffentlichung !!! Das selbstbetitelte Debütalbum aus dem Jahre 1996 der Norweger BORKNAGAR (damals über Malicious Records rausgekommen) wird Ende des Jahres mit neuem Booklet auf CD und als Vinyl bei Displeased Records neu erscheinen. BORKNAGR selber befinden sich zur Zeit mitten in der Fertigstellung des Nachfolgers zu ihrem 2001er Album "Empiricism", welcher Anfang 2004 in den Läden stehen soll. CARVED IN STONE sind fleissig !!! Swawa schafft zur Zeit noch fleißig am neuen Album. Die Aufnahmen dürtften gegen November / Dezember fertig sein. Das Album selbst wird im Frühjahr 2004 veröffentlicht. Die Tage durfte auch Erik (Taunusheim) als Gastmusiker seine Gitarre zum Einsatz bringen. MORTIIS am werkeln. Die Norweger MORTIIS befinden sich zur Zeit im Studio, um mit Produzent Vegard Blomberg den "Smell Of Rain" Nachfolger aufzunehmen, welcher im nächsten Sommer veröffentlicht werden soll. Januar 2004 bestreiten DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER und HEAVEN SHALL BURN ein Benefizkonzert zugunsten des Solidaritätsfonds Ecuador. Die gesamten Einnahmen des Abends fließen in ein Kinderbetreuungsprojekt auf der "Isla Trinitaria", einem der ärmsten Stadtteile in Guayaquil, der größten Stadt Ecuadors. Neben lokalen Openern sorgen die DJs von HELLBORN Metalradio für die entsprechendeUmrahmung. EISREGEN gefährdet die Jugend !!! Das "Krebskolonie" Album der Thüringer Band EISREGEN wurde von der "Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Schriften" am 07.08.2003 indiziert. Nach einer eingehenden Prüfung befand das Gremium die Texte der Thüringer für u. a. "grausam, menschenverachtend, frauenfeindlich und verrohend"! MAJESTY wollen in´s Stadion 1/5 Die deutschen Truemetaller MAJESTY haben im Rahmen ihrer Releaseparty zum neuen, gerade auf Massacre Records erschienenen Album "Reign In Glory" einen Videoclip zur Hymne "Into The Stadiums" abgedreht, der die Band Live in Aktion zeigt. Zu sehen gibt es das Video u.a. auf der Homepage von Massacre records unter www.massacre-records.com . My Dying Bride sind am schmieden !!! Fans aus England konnten während einer Halloween-Show mit My Dying Bride im Londoner Astoria Club schon einen Vorgeschmack auf das neue Album "Razorbliss" bekommen. Die Band um die neue Sängerin Helen Vogt stellte dort bereits Tracks des kommenden, dritten Albums vor. Eingeflochten in ein überzeugendes Repertoire alter Klassiker, räumte die Band auf ganzer Linie ab und erntete viel Lob in den britischen Medien. Wie schon auf dem Wave & Gotik Treffen konnte die Frontfrau auch in London überzeugen, und hat zudem ihre Performance und Gesangsleistung weiter ausgebaut. Jetzt wird es höchste Zeit für Helen´s erstes Album! Die Aufnahmesession mit Produzent Waldemar Sorychta (Lacuna Coil, Tiamat, Moonspell, Sentenced etc.) verlief sehr erfolgreich und domit steht der Veröffentlichung des brandneuen Sahnestücks "Razorbliss" im März nichts mehr im Weg. Das neue Material macht einen Schritt vom himmlischen Vorgängeralbum "Serpentine" hin zu mehr Rock orientierten, härteren Songs verziert mit epischen Refrains, messerscharfen Gitarrenriffs und massiven Grooves. Aus der San Francisco Bay Area stammen nicht nur die legendärsten Thrash Bands wie Exodus, Metallica oder Testament. In Oakland ist seit den 50er Jahren auch das bekannteste und berüchtigste Hell’s Angels Chapter ansässig. Und genau dort her kommen WATCH THEM DIE. Wer sich eine blutige Nase abholen will, sollte das am 26. Januar 2004 erscheinende Debüt Album auf keinen Fall verpassen. Die Truppe besteht aus Sänger Pat Vigil, Gitarrist Greg Valencia und Ira Harris an den Drums, die alle drei zu den Gründungsmitgliedern der legänderen Westcoast Punks Grimple gehören. Nach deren Auflösung stieg Pat für zwei Alben bei Buzzov-en ein, Ira trommelte für OjoRojo, während Greg sich u.a. bei Eldopa/1332 austobte. Der Rest ist US-Hardcore Geschichte und der Kreis der drei schließt sich mit WATCH THEM DIE, zu denen noch Pat Mello (ex-Schlong, Downfall) und Jase Freakly (ex-World Salad) stießen. Seit ihrer Gründung Anfang 2000 haben WATCH THEM DIE mit ihrem Sound die Grenzen zwischen Bay Area Thrash, Grindcore, Crust, Punk und Metal verschwinden lassen und sich damit eine unglaublich fanatische und aktive Fangemeinde erspielt. Durch ihre energiegeladenen und manchmal auch gewalttätigen Live Shows, sowie extrem ausufernde Dezibel Orgien, haben es WATCH THEM DIE geschafft schon nach ihrem vierten Auftritt diverse Bay Area Gigs als Headliner zu bestreiten. Wer auf eine eigenständige Mischung aus alten MANOWAR und MANILLA ROAD steht, wird nicht an den kultigen Italienern vorbeikommen. With the new Arena and Rod Stewart having played Victoria, you can just feel that this is going to be a great year for live music around town. I’m always impressed with the turnout and energy of the younger crowds at the all-ages shows. Even if you’re old you should go check one out sometime. You might find it invigorating to jump in a circle pit of mohawked fury. It was great hanging out with the crew at Spitfire Tattoo special thanks to Rick and Amanda. Electric Frankenstein was an amazing show and just proves that Victoria gets wicked shows all the time. A big middle finger to the asshole bouncers @ Diego’s who wouldn’t let me in even though I was on the guest list and then proceeded to tell the headlining act CHOKE to “pack their shit, they weren’t going to play.” This was after two huge idiots working the door beat up CHOKE’s drummer who weighs about a buck ten soaking wet.
