We’re all still here it’s just that some of us have been forced to self-isolate for the time being. As with most of you, we are staying in unless absolutely necessary , in an effort to do what’s right. Attached, you will find a slightly different newsletter and it may change as we evolve over the next few weeks but one thing’s for sure. We wanted to stay in touch with all of you to make sure you know that this a situation we are all in to- gether, that we will help with as much as we are able and also to keep the focus on the great things you are doing at home. That, ultimately, is what learning is about– not just what you do in school but what you as an individual take away from any learning opportunity and how you seek to link it to other aspects of life so that it makes sense and you can even ex- pand on it. On the following pages you will see what the Hubs have been up to, as well as the children who are still coming into school. We are also working on creating opportunities for you to ‘meet’ with your teachers online, as well as loading some direct teaching inputs as videos, that they will share with you whenever they are ready.

School Newsletter Newsletter No 25 Spring 2020-21 Stoke Bishop C of E Primary School Cedar Park, Stoke Bishop, Bristol, BS9 1BW Telephone: 0117 3772173 Email: [email protected] Hello to all our Parents, Carers and Children, Happy Easter! A great opportunity for all of us to take stock of the winter months and refresh ourselves for the Spring and Summer ahead. It brings with it a sense of opportunity and freshness that is now, so heavily interlinked with ‘Spring Cleaning’, grass cutting and (for some) the dreaded DIY jobs. Most importantly it is a time for dusting ourselves down and making as much as possible of the great outdoors. I guess the sense of freedom that comes with the lighter evenings and warmer weather is greatly connected to the gradual reduction of Lockdown measures this year. Whilst there are still important limitations for us to observe, I hope that you get the chance to spend time with those you care about and haven’t had the chance to see for a while. A challenge for all the children out there. What can you find out about this picture? There are no prizes from me but I suppose you may be able to convince an adult at home to reward you if you can tell them something they didn’t know? It’s a chance to use your skills as a historian and have a bit of fun. Have a great holiday. We look forward to seeing you all again in a couple of weeks’ time on Monday 19th April.

School Newsletter Newsletter No 14 Autumn 2020 Stoke Bishop C of E Primary School Cedar Park, Stoke Bishop, Bristol, BS9 1BW Telephone: 0117 3772173 Email: [email protected] www.stokebishop.bristol.sch.uk Head Teacher: Mr David Forrester Hello to all our Parents, Carers and Children, Happy Christmas! A huge thank you to the PTA for organising the Reindeer event for the children. A wonderful surprise and a fascinating learning opportunity that the children really engaged with. It was much appreciated by everyone at school – the adults as much as the children! A massive thank you to you all for the wonderful Christmas donations to the Avonmouth Foodbank. There were in total 1207 items by our calculations. Enough to stretch the arms of all the Foodbank appeal reps from each year group as they loaded up the car! There really was no space for any more and the staff at the foodbank were genuinely amazed and truly grateful for your generosity. I would like to say special thankyou for the effort and enthusiasm of our reps: Zoe, Leo, Aneira, Imogen, Jori, Bethany, Sebastian, Charlotte, Rory, Zelda, Xin Jie, Matthew, Carly, Ben, Patience, Alice, Eddie, Thomas, Aye, Theo, Betsy-May, Sophie, and Ella Their efforts resulted in a huge total that everyone can be proud of. So big they couldn’t weigh it all there and then. If we ever get a final total we’ll let you know. The winning class was R2 with 202 items. Enormous congratulations to them. Whatever you have chosen to do over the next few weeks, have a wonderful, safe Christmas and we look forward to seeing everyone in what will be a brilliant New Year.
