I believe the last time was when we had some success in the FA youth Cup back in 2010 when we went out to AFC Wimbledon. Our squad this year has had a great run in this year’s tournament overcoming Brimsdown, Hanwell Town, Knaphill and Sutton Common Rovers, some really tough matches. However, Newport County being a football league club will present us with an enormous challenge. It must be mentioned that our improvement and progress this season would not have been possible without the hard work of my two coaches Shaun Ryan and Jordan Berry both have really put in extra time and effort since the end of June which I believe we are all benefiting from. Along with our move to The Isthmian Youth League which has pushed the players much harder. At the end of the day it’s the players who have performed consistently well this year so far and exceeded our expectations. We won’t be getting carried away with ourselves though. The squad has been supported by our talented partner club Sandgate Youth FC and this year’s Sandgate /Uxbridge Under 16 squad are pressing the older boys all the way creating a fantastic competitive environment. Well that just leaves me to ask you to get behind the boy’s tonight opportunities like this don’t come around too often so well make the most of it Our normal league matches are on a Monday evening so hopefully you might like to pop down and see us again or perhaps the new look First team Under new Manager Danny Edwards on a Saturday afternoon. With talented school leavers finding it hard to break immediately into senior football, The Youth Cup was seen as an ideal breeding ground for the football stars of the future. Initially, many clubs did not have an organised youth structure but today all clubs, both League and non-League, have realised the importance of nurturing future talent. Hence the depth and breadth of the 400-plus entrants. To qualify for The Youth Cup, teams must play in a Youth League, or equivalent competition, and must be fully integrated within the main structure of the senior club. The players selected must be under 18 at midnight on 31 August in the current season. Players of the calibre of George Best, Paul Gascoigne, David Beckham and Michael Owen have all played in FA Youth Cup-winning sides. Manchester United have won The Youth Cup a record 10 times, and last lifted the trophy in 2011. Generally, it has been the big clubs with the most sophisticated youth set-ups and advanced recruitment techniques that dominate The Youth Cup’s list of winners. Chelsea have been the pre-eminent force of late, winning five of the last seven Finals. The highest aggregate score for The Final is the 9-0 thrashing that West Ham United – with Joe Cole and Michael Carrick – handed out to Coventry City in 1999. A full house at Upton Park saw the rampant Young Hammers win the second leg 6-0 before the live Sky cameras. Only those players between the age of 15 and 18 on 31 August of the current season are eligible to take part. It is dominated by the youth sides of professional teams, mostly from the Premier League, but attracts over 400 entrants from throughout the country. At the end of the Second World War the FA organised a Youth Championship for County Associations considering it the best way to stimulate the game among those youngsters not yet old enough to play senior football. The matches did not attract large crowds but outstanding players were selected for Youth Internationals and thousands were given the chance to play in a national contest for the first time. In 1951 it was realised that a competition for clubs would probably have a wider appeal.

    NEWS Bootle Football Club’s YOUTH The original Bootle F.C. were formed in 1880 and played at Hawthorne Road. Vodkat League First Division They were in fact Everton FC’s biggest Champions rivals. In 1889–90 Bootle became founder 2008-09 members of the Football Alliance, narrowly missing out on the football 1964-65, 1975-76, league to the blues. That season was the 1978-79 most successful as we finished league runners-up, reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where we lost to Blackburn 1965-66, 1967-68, Rovers (0-7). When the Alliance merged with the Football 1973-74 League in 1892, Bootle became founder members of the new Liverpool County Second Division. However, despite a respectable 8th place FA Youth Cup Under 18’s - West Cheshire League - Manager Richie Boswarva final position, the club dropped out after one season (and 1977-78, 1984-85, 1990-91, were replaced by neighbours Liverpool) and seemingly 1999-00, 2005-06 Under 17’s - Liverpool Premier League - Manager Ste Miller disappeared due to financial problems.     RULES OF THE FA YOUTH CHALLENGE CUP COMPETITION (“the Competition”) COVID-19 has created great uncertainty for both football and society at large and The Association is not currently able to predict the impact that COVID-19 will have on the Competition in the 2020-21 season. In the Competition Rules for the 2020-21 season, The Association has addressed some of the potential issues that may occur (both in new Rule 33 and by way of amendments to existing Competition Rules). However, it is possible that further changes will be required to the Competition Rules or associated documents during the season (in particular, to address any guidance issued by the government or Public Health England or any replacement body (“PHE”)). If Competition Rule changes are required, they will be communicated to the Clubs participating in the Competition as soon as reasonably possible. Any references in these Competition Rules to COVID-19 shall also be deemed to include any alternative coronavirus or epidemic or pandemic affecting the Competition during the 2020-21 season. 1. CONTROL OF COMPETITION- RULES AND REGULATIONS (a) The ownership, organisation, control and management of the Competition and any rights associated with it of any nature shall be vested entirely and exclusively in The Association.     RULES OF THE FA YOUTH CHALLENGE CUP COMPETITION 1. CONTROL OF COMPETITION- RULES AND REGULATIONS (a) The ownership, organisation, control and management of the Competition and any rights associated with it of any nature shall be vested entirely and exclusively in The Association. (b) The Council shall have the power to make, delete and amend regulations for the organisation, control and management of the Competition as it, from time to time, deems expedient (the “Competition Rules”) subject only to the authority of the Board where such matters relate to financial or commercial matters. Unless explicitly provided for within the Competition Rules definitions of terms used within the Competition Rules are those included within the Rules of The Association for the relevant season. (c) All Participants participating in any way in the Competition shall be bound by and comply with the Competition Rules (and any rules or regulations issued pursuant to the Competition Rules). (d) The Council shall have the power to appoint a Committee (the “Youth Committee”). The Youth Committee shall have the power to exercise all powers of the Council in relation to the Competition and to make decisions on all matters arising out of or in relation to the organisation, control and management of the Competition (including as to eligibility and qualification) which shall be deemed decisions of the Council and shall be final and binding on all participants in the Competition. In relation to these and any other matters not specifically mentioned in the Competition Rules, the Youth Committee shall, on behalf of the Council, have the power to take such action and make such decisions, orders, rulings and impose such penalties as it deems necessary and following such procedures as it considers appropriate and such shall, subject to Rule 30, be final and binding on all Participants.
