MORE MEET THE STAFF Page 4

MEGAN FISCHER, Technical Services Manager

Megan Fischer is the Technical Services Librarian as well as the eReader specialist, the social media point person and the accidental graphic designer for BCPL. Born and raised in San Antonio, Megan is very close to her parents and her two younger siblings. Her brother has Downs Syndrome and she is a supporter of the Buddy Walk and Fiesta Especial. Her sister is a law student and both of them are huge fans of YA series.

Megan attained her bachelors in RTVF (with a minor in sociology) from TCU and her masters in Library Information Science from UT. She supports both teams whole heartedly, but bleeds purple in November. While at TCU Megan was part of a popular radio show and podcast called “Fanboy Radio” where she got to interview many of her heroes such as and Laurell K. Hamilton. During the four years between TCU and grad school Megan moved to Los Angeles to try her hand at film making. You can see her name in the credits of Avatar but not on some of the awe- some commercials and music videos she worked on. After Avatar Megan helped run a horror film festival and worked in creative development for a comicbook/movie company. After four years of the “fancy” Hollywood life, Megan re- turned to Texas to get her masters and to be closer to her family.

Megan has already beaten her goodreads yearly read goal and she enjoys crafting, announcing for the Texas Roller- girls, TV nights with friends, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with her cats (Doctor Who and River Tam). She still hopes will come back on the air and has decorated her office in Arrow fanart and Tokidoki unicorns.

MARY MILLER, Library Clerk

I am delighted to be working as a library clerk at the Bee Cave Public Library and meeting and serving all the wonderful library patrons. I lived in Maryland happily working and raising my 2 children for 31 years before my son and daughter decided they’d had enough of metropolitan Washington, DC, and took off for other locales. My husband and I packed up and moved to Bee Cave in October 2011. I enjoy sewing, especially home décor and ballet costume design and construction (I’ve created some costumes for several library events!). I also enjoy gardening and keep fit with walking, Pilates, yoga, biking and swimming. I share an addiction to Downton Abbey with several other library staff. Recent reads include The Little Paris Bookshop, The Wright Brothers and At the Water’s Edge and I’m getting caught up with author Spencer Quinn’s Chet and Bernie series. All these titles are available at your friendly local library!

TERI ROBERTSON, Library Clerk

I was born in Syracuse, New York, grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and have crisscrossed the country a few times with the many places I have lived since. I spent 20 years as an elementary school teacher in Virginia, Oregon and North Carolina, with the last five years being an elementary/ middle school librarian in Northern Virginia. I am married to a game developer, which brought us to Austin, and am the mother of two happy teenage girls. Although we grumbled about moving to the “wilds of Texas” four years ago, we have grown to love Austin and have enjoyed all the friendly peo- ple we have met. We have thoroughly enjoyed the outstanding food culture in this area (maybe a little too much!), as well as the many outdoor activities and entertainment aspects of our new surroundings. We have taken advantage of the fact that there is always somewhere to go and something to do. Two years ago, I was lucky enough to become an employee of the Bee Cave Public Library. The community has been so warm and welcoming. It has been an abso- lute joy to go to work each day and, hopefully, I will be able to stay put for quite a few years.

ANGELA ROVETTO, Library Clerk

Having moved to the Greater Central Texas area at the tender age of nine, Angela is Bee Cave Public Library proud and happy to consider herself a native Texan. While much of 4000 Galleria Parkway Bee Cave, TX 78738 her past remains a mystery we have come to the conclusion that per- haps she is a member of the witness protection program or some 512.767.6620 other secret government-backed program.
