Acta Geologica Polonica , 58 (4), 407-423 . Warszawa. The Early Cretaceous ammonites from the Hradiště Formation (Wernsdorfer Schichten in original concept) in the Czech part of the Silesian Unit of the Outer (Flysch) Western Carpathians are described. This rich material, collected over more than 40 years, includes many usually fragmentarily preserved ammonites. The majority of specimens are preserved as “half-ammonoids”; a small portion of them have pyritized inner whorls with preserved suture lines. 15 species-level taxa are described, partly in open nomenclature. One species , ? Valdedorsella ho - heneggeri , is described as new ; albeit its generic classification remains uncertain. The ammonites described span the late Early Barremian (Niclesia pulchella ammonite Zone) to basal Aptian ( Deshayesites oglanlensis ammonite Zone). Key words: Trans-Caspian area, Barremian, Aptian, ammonite zones, correlation, boundary strato- type. This paper focuses on the Barremian/Aptian boundary in the Trans-Caspian area. Results of a strati- graphical study of the uppermost Barremian and the lower Aptian succession in the Trans-Caspian area are presented. The bed-by-bed description of three sections — Keldzhe, Tekedzhik and Utu- ludzha — is given as well as detailed lithologic columns. Five ammonite zones are known in the stud- ied stratigraphic interval — the Turkmeniceras turkmenicum, Deshayesites tuarkyricus, D. weissi, D. deshayesi, and Dufrenoya furcata zones. These zones are correlated with those of Europe. The Bar- remian/Aptian boundary in the Trans-Caspian area should be drawn at the base of the D. tuarkyricus Zone. It corresponds to the layers with the first occurrences of Deshayesites, Prodeshayesites and Para- deshayesites in Europe. It is proposed here to situate the boundary stratotype in the Utuludzha section, where the beds containing zonal representatives of the T. turkmenicum and D. tuarkyricus Zones are almost adjacent. • Report on the State of Water Management in the Czech Republic in 2007“, Briefly Entitled As the „Blue Report“
By December 2007 Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic Draft introduction Dear readers, you have in your hands the eleventh edition of the „Report on the State of Water Management in the Czech Republic in 2007“, briefly entitled as the „Blue Report“. This publication is a summary informational material which brings a complex information on the state of our waters and information on all water-management services which take care of water sources and their use by in- habitants and national economy. The flood situations in previous ten years made the public concentrate on flood-protection measures and recti- fication of flood damage, which is the reason you get a detailed information on projects and financial resources in this field. In 2007 next stages of programmes aimed at intensification of flood-protection measures in competence of Ministry of Agriculture started. Between the years 2007 – 2012 they will enable the implementation of events on watercourses, reservoirs, fishponds and in landscape in the amount of app. CZK 15 billion. Thanks to the support within the programmes of Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Environment there has also been a significant progress in the construction of sewerage systems and waste water treatment plants. As a result of this there has been a rise in the proportion of inhabitants connected to these systems, which exceeded 80 %. Over 95 % of the amount of discharged waste water is treated, which of course helps to improve the quality of water in our watercourses, as illustrated in the maps of cleaniness of water in comparison with the years 1990 – 2007.

ABSTRACT This study ocuses on the lower Aptian desmoceratid auna o Oliete sub-basin (Teruel province). The systematic revision o these biostratigraphy well constrained ammonites, allowed us to work on two issues. On the fist place, we improved the systematic and taxonomic knowledge about Pseudosaynella raresulcata (d’Orbigny, 1841), Pseudosaynella bicurvata (Michelin, 1838) and Pseudohaploceras liptoviensis (Zeuschner, 1856) whose definitions, previous to this study, were based on scarce material and ew studies on their ontoge- netic variation. On a second place, we constrained their stratigraphical ranges, especially or the Pseudosaynella species, and their correlation with the lower Aptian standard ammonite Mediterranean zonation. Keywords: lower Aptian, ammonoids, systematics, biostratigraphy, Oliete sub-basin, Iberian Chain, Te- ruel, Spain. • First Record of Non-Mineralized Cephalopod Jaws and Arm Hooks
Klug et al. Swiss J Palaeontol (2020) 139:9 https://doi.org/10.1186/s13358-020-00210-y Swiss Journal of Palaeontology RESEARCH ARTICLE Open Access First record of non-mineralized cephalopod jaws and arm hooks from the latest Cretaceous of Eurytania, Greece Christian Klug1* , Donald Davesne2,3, Dirk Fuchs4 and Thodoris Argyriou5 Abstract Due to the lower fossilization potential of chitin, non-mineralized cephalopod jaws and arm hooks are much more rarely preserved as fossils than the calcitic lower jaws of ammonites or the calcitized jaw apparatuses of nautilids. Here, we report such non-mineralized fossil jaws and arm hooks from pelagic marly limestones of continental Greece. Two of the specimens lie on the same slab and are assigned to the Ammonitina; they represent upper jaws of the aptychus type, which is corroborated by fnds of aptychi. Additionally, one intermediate type and one anaptychus type are documented here. The morphology of all ammonite jaws suggest a desmoceratoid afnity. The other jaws are identifed as coleoid jaws. They share the overall U-shape and proportions of the outer and inner lamellae with Jurassic lower jaws of Trachyteuthis (Teudopseina). We also document the frst belemnoid arm hooks from the Tethyan Maastrichtian. The fossils described here document the presence of a typical Mesozoic cephalopod assemblage until the end of the Cretaceous in the eastern Tethys. They are preserved in situ in the body cham- ber and characterized by a widely open outer lamella with a nearly flat rostral portion. The outer lamella consists of an inner “chitinous” layer sculptured by a median furrow in the anterior to mid-portions and an outer calcareous layer with prismatic microstructure. The lower jaw features of the two Menuites spe- cies are shared by other species of the Pachydiscidae described in previous works, indicating that they are diagnostic characters of this family. In view of the shovel-like shape without a pointed rostrum, the lower jaws of the two Menuites species were likely used as a scoop to feed on microorganisms. • Ammonite Occurrence in the Barremian-Aptian Boundary Beds in North-Eastern Bulgaria T
Докладм Болгарской академии иаук Comptes rendus de l’Académie bulgare des Sciences Tome 36, № 8, 1983 GÉOLOGIE Stratigraphie AMMONITE OCCURRENCE IN THE BARREMIAN-APTIAN BOUNDARY BEDS IN NORTH-EASTERN BULGARIA T. G. Nikolov, K. H. Stoykova, M. I. Ivanov (Submitted, by Corresponding Member V. Tsankov on April 18, 1983) One of the research projects carried out by the Department of Palaentolo- gy at the Sofia University in recent years has been the detailed study of the biostratigraphy of the Lower Cretaceous in North-Eastern Bulgaria. Part of this project was included in the graduation thesis of K. Stoykova on the Aptian stage in the lower reaches of the Yantra River, and also in the studies into the Lower Cretaseous carried out by T. Nikolov in the natural open layers and in the deep drillings between the Yantra and the Black Sea. Very interesting data were obtained from the investigation of the uninter rupted Barrcmian-Aptian section a[ the Katselovo Village, Rousse District. This section presents a monotonous rhythmic alternation of marls, clay lime stones, and sparse seams of rather pure limestones, developed mainly in the upper part. The section provides a very good opportunity for observing the stratigraphic ammonite occurence in a clay-carbonate medium. Viewed from top to bottom, the section at Katselovo Village, Rousse District, reveals the following sequences: ^ 5 ."Thin-layer beige marls exteremely rich in fossil fauna. • (Ammonoidea, Gassendiceratinae), and New Ammonite Biohorizon for the Upper Barremian of Southeastern France
Carnets de Géologie / Notebooks on Geology - Article 2009/02 (CG2009_A02) Pseudoshasticrioceras bersaci nov. sp. (Ammonoidea, Gassendiceratinae), and new ammonite biohorizon for the Upper Barremian of southeastern France Didier BERT* 1 Gérard DELANOY 2 Abstract: Research in the Feraudianus Subzone of the Sartousiana Zone of the Barremian stage led to the discovery of a new species of Pseudoshasticrioceras: P. bersaci nov. sp. Its study provides evidence concerning the developments of the latest Gassendiceratinae BERT et alii, 2006, and the relationship between the genus Pseudoshasticrioceras DELANOY, 1998, and Gassendiceras BERT et alii, 2006. In particular, this new species is derived from Pseudoshasticrioceras magnini (DELANOY, 1992) by a minor revision in the processes of ontogenesis (retardation of ornamentation - neoteny). However, the evolution towards Pseudoshasticrioceras autrani DELANOY, 1998, implies a "failure" in this process that may possibly be related to parallel changes in environmental conditions. On the other hand, the very closely defined stratigraphic position of Pseudoshasticrioceras bersaci nov. sp., and its position in the anagenetic lineage of Pseudoshasticrioceras, demonstrates its interest as a biostratigraphic marker: a new Bersaci Biohorizon is proposed; it is located between the Magnini and the Autrani biohorizons. Key Words: Ammonitinae; Pseudoshasticrioceras; Gassendiceratinae; Upper Barremian; Sartousiana Zone; Feraudianus Subzone; biozonation; southeastern France. Citation: BERT D. & DELANOY G. (2009).-

  • The Appearance of the Genus Deshayesites (Kazansky, 1914, Ammonoidea) in the Lowermost Aptian (Lower Cretaceous) of La Bedoule (Se France)
Rivista Italians di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia volume 105 numero 2 tavole 1-9 pagine 267-286 Settembre 1999 THE APPEARANCE OF THE GENUS DESHAYESITES (KAZANSKY, 1914, AMMONOIDEA) IN THE LOWERMOST APTIAN (LOWER CRETACEOUS) OF LA BEDOULE (SE FRANCE) FABRIZIO CECCA *, PIERRE ROPOLO** & ROLAND GONNET*** Received March 29, 1999; accepted June 4, 1999 Key-words: Palaeontology, Biostratigraphy, Ammonites, Creta- ceous, Aptian, SE France. Abstract. New palaeontological and biostratigraphical investiga- tions were carried out at La Bedoule (SE France), which is the strato- type-area of the Bedoulian (Lower Aptian). The levels that directly overlie the last Barremian Pseudocrioceras-bearing bed have revealed the occurrence of a fauna characterized by previously undescribed macro- conchs of the genus Deshayesites, that we have included in Deshayesites bedouliensis n. sp. and in D. aff. consobrinus (d'Orbigny). These forms are associated with the species Deshayesites antiquus Bogdanova, D. oglanlensis Bogdanova, D. cf. weissiformis Bogdanova, D. aff. weissifor- mis Bogdanova in Delanoy, D. cf. planicostatus Bogdanova, and D. aff. normani Casey. These ammonites characterize the basal Aptian Des- hayesites tuarkyricus Zone. This Zone was defined in Turkmenistan but its recognition in the Mediterranean Tethys is confirmed by the pre- sent study. Contrary to previous assertions, the genus Prodeshayesites (which pre-dates Deshayesites in northern Germany and southern En- gland), whose FAD was taken to mark the base of the Aptian, is ab- sent at La Bedoule. Prodeshayesites is absent also in Turkmenistan and in all other Mediterranean localities. The FAD of the genus Deshayesi- tes is taken to mark the base of the Aptian in the Mediterranean area.
