ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (Chapter 374) SPEED LIMIT IN In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 8 December 2006, the following road sections in Tsuen Wan will be subject to a speed limit of 70 kilometers per hour:— (a) the eastbound carriageway of —New ; (b) the westbound carriageway of Castle Peak Road—New Ting Kau from its eastern junction with Castle Peak Road—Ting Kau to a point about 130 metres east of its western junction with Castle Peak Road—Ting Kau; (c) the eastbound carriageway of Castle Peak Road—Ting Kau from a point about 200 metres west of its western junction with Castle Peak Road—New Ting Kau to its merging point with Castle Peak Road—Sham Tseng (excluding the service road near Lot no. 403 in D.D. 399); (d ) the westbound carriageway of Castle Peak Road—Ting Kau from a point about 100 metres west of its western junction with Castle Peak Road—New Ting Kau to its merging point with Castle Peak Road—Sham Tseng (excluding the service road near Casam Beach and the service road near Exhibition Centre); (e) the eastbound carriageway of Castle Peak Road—Sham Tseng from its merging point with Castle Peak Road—Ting Kau to a point about 720 metres west of the same merging point (excluding the service road near Golden Villa); and ( f ) the westbound carriageway of Castle Peak Road—Sham Tseng from its merging point with Castle Peak Road—Ting Kau to a point about 570 metres west of the same merging point. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. At the same time, the existing speed limits on the following road sections will be rescinded:— (a) the existing speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour on the above road sections of Castle Peak Road—Sham Tseng and Castle Peak Road—Ting Kau; and (b) the existing speed limit of 70 kilometres per hour on the section of Castle Peak Road—New Ting Kau from its eastern junction with Castle Peak Road—Ting Kau to a point about 550 metres west of the same junction as gazetted under G.N. 2608 on 28 April 2006.
