Cuando pensamos que la deliberada heterogeneidad temática y cronológica de Olivar —dado el contexto académico en el cual surge— se vería oportunamente equilibrada con una sección independiente dedicada a un tema específico, varias circunstancias nos condujeron de inmediato al autor del Laberinto mágico. En la España del siglo XXI, el nombre de Max Aub, sus obras, su vida, han dejado de ser una huella velada pendiente de un justo conocimiento y reconocimiento en el campo de las letras y la cultura de su país. Hubiera sido una empresa desmesurada para la incipiente andadura de Olivar intentar revocar esa injusticia de la historia, pero creemos no obstante que aún hay mucho por hacer. Aunque las teorías más actuales han demostrado suficientemente que tratándose de literatura nuevas lecturas abrirán siempre nuevos caminos y, por lo tanto, ningún asunto ni autor pueden considerarse agotados para la investigación, también es verdad que ciertos casos constituyen un motivo de especial repercusión en un determinado universo literario.
