  • Titans-Bills Supplemental Notes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OCTOBER 3, 2019 TITANS-BILLS SUPPLEMENTAL NOTES FOUR GAMES ALLOWING 20 OR FEWER POINTS: The Titans have begun the 2019 season by limiting all four of their opponents to 20 or fewer points. They allowed 13 points at the Cleveland Browns, 19 points against the Indianapolis Colts, 20 points at the Jacksonville Jaguars and 10 points last week at the Atlanta Falcons. Since 1999, there have been only three other Titans squads that did not allow more than 20 points in any of their first four games: the 2000 team (seven games), the 2008 team (six) and the 2011 team (four). This week the Titans face an opponent, the Buffalo Bills, that can lay claim to the same achievement. The Bills have given up 16, 14, 17 and 16 points in their four contests, respectively. The Titans and Bills are two of only five NFL teams to hold opponents to 20 or fewer points every week this season. The others are the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers (three games). Most consecutive games at the beginning of a Titans season allowing 20 or fewer points, 1999–present: Season Games 1. 2000 7 2. 2008 6 3. 2019 4 (active) 2011 4 5. 2010 3 NEW FRANCHISE RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE PASSES WITHOUT AN INTERCEPTION: Last week at Atlanta, Marcus Mariota attempted 27 passes with 18 completions for 227 yards and three touchdowns. He also did not throw an interception for the sixth consecutive game, dating back to last season. The last time he was intercepted was against Jacksonville on Dec.
