On the following pages you’ll find prices for most of the products listed in our catalogue. Those not listed are either lines that are special order only, or are unusually bulky and may attract extra freight charges. Please call us on 03 5729 5529 for details on these products. Also, with 2900 different products, there may be the odd one missing from the list. Please tell us, so we can add it quickly. Garmin, Magellan, Thermarest & MSR Prices For prices on these lines please see the Australian Catalogue, or call us for a quote. GST All prices include GST Easy Ways to Pay! Credit Card by phone: 03 5729 5529. Quote your card numbers and expiry date to our staff and your account will be debited on the day your parts are dispatched. Credit Card by Email or Fax: info@touratech or 03 5729 5559. You can fax or email your card details, but this isn’t 100% secure. Some of our customers send half the card numbers in one email or fax, and the other half in a second, providing protection if the message goes astray. Quote your card numbers and expiry date in the message and your account will be debited on the day your parts are dispatched. Direct Transfer to Our Account: The funds can be deposited directly into our account, either via internet banking or over the counter at your bank. The details for this will be included on your invoice, which you will receive by either email or fax after your order has been placed. Please email or fax confirmation of payment - we can’t send your parts until this has been done! Please ensure that the full amount for the order plus freight is deposited - the buyer is responsible for any bank charges incurred. Deposits We may ask for a non-refundable 30% deposit if we have to order unusual lines from the German factory. Freight All prices exclude freight from our warehouse in Victoria to your location. Unless you specify otherwise, we use e-post, which allows internet tracking, and reaches into the far corners of Australia, quickly, promptly, and at a reasonable freight rate. Also, once the goods have left the warehouse, they are out of our hands so please specify if you’d like insurance on your freight. Stock & Back-Orders While we keep good stocks of most lines, we can’t hold all the items listed in the catalogue. Delivery from Germany takes around three weeks, and Australian delivery takes three-to-five days. Please allow for this when ordering. We can’t be held responsible for any issues raised from late deliveries. Products not in stock here or in Germany will be automatically placed on back-order, unless you tell us otherwise. Returns & Claims Touratech’s liability shall be limited to the repair or replacement, at its discretion, of any defective goods. This warranty shall not apply to normal wear, or to any product which has been improperly fitted or used for an application for which it wasn’t intended. If you wish to return a product please notify us within seven days of delivery. Any returns must be accompanied by proof of purchase, and freight must be paid by the customer. Non-standard items will not be accepted for return, and a 15% handling charge will be levelled on returns. But, if it’s our mistake, we’ll fix it quickly for no charge. A select group of bikes draw crowds when you park them up. Some, like Ducati's 996 and the MV Augsta F4, attract admirers who just want to ogle their beautiful styling. Others act as people magnets simply because they're so different. The BMW F650CS definitely falls into the latter category. But what makes it so odd? It's hard to pinpoint which of its many outlandish features stands out most. Is it the nose? The colours? The huge exhaust pipe? The tank? The bike's designer, David Robb, describes the CS as "like an orchestra" That doesn't mean it blasts out a few bars of Beethoven's Fifth every time you stop - now that really would attract attention. What he's trying to say is that all the style features on the bike have been designed to work in concert with each other. He has a point. The CS may stand out from everything else around it, but from nose to tail it follows its own peculiar aesthetic principles. You have to admire BMW for not suddenly losing courage halfway through. Take the three black rubber protectors on the frame, They're there to minimise damage if the bike falls over.

    The 2009 Iron Butt Rally – Day -2 Saturday, August 22, 2009 Today was the primary day for tech inspection and rider check-in for the 14th running of the Iron Butt Rally. Several minor problems with auxiliary fuel system venting were identified that riders were able to correct. There are a few problems with registration and insurance paperwork that will hopefully be corrected before the start Monday morning. As expected, several riders lost their way on The Odometer Check From Hell, but, to my surprise, everyone eventually completed the course in no more than two attempts. Lisa Stevens Checks the Odometer Reading as Bob and Sylvie Torter Prepare to Start the Odometer Check from Hell The most serious problem identified so far showed up last night before the start of the official Tech Inspection process. Jim Owen, 2nd place finisher in the 2007 Rally, wanted to make a last-minute adjustment to the top case on his BMW R1200RT that required him to remove the seat. To his horror, he found the auxiliary electrical system in the middle of a melt down. Sparks were arcing, insulation was burning, and an electrical relay was melting. A wire from the positive terminal of the battery was poorly routed causing insulation to be worn off and resulting in a short circuit. (Owen’s unparalleled reputation for routing clearly doesn’t apply to electrical systems.) Fortunately, this -1- problem appears to have been caught mere seconds before irreparable damage had been done. With the assistance of Tom Sperry, a more mechanically inclined fellow rider, an all new wiring harness was fabricated and the bike is no longer emitting sparks or smoke.
