1. ROBE The Robe is constructed of red. medium- weight woven crease-resistant fabric such as polyester.

2. LINING White, light-weight woven fabric such as polyester.

3. HEM The hem should be approximately 8" (20 cm) to 10" (25 cm) from the floor.

4. COLLAR The basic collar is white. self-lined in the same fabric as the robe. It is approximately 4½" (½ cm) in width. Do not make the neck of the collar too tight. Please refer to Appendix 2 “Regalia and Insignia” page 1 for Rank of Designation on Robe Collars, and illustrations following.

5. CLOSURE A very large hook-and-eye is attached to the inside neck edge.

6. FRONT BORDER White, same fabric as collar. This border is 2½" (6.5 cm) wide.

7. BUTTONHOLES These are approximately ¼" ( cm) wide to accommodate the shank of the button. The buttonholes are positioned 5" (13cm) from the front neck edge, and 2" (5cm) from the front edge of the border.

8. SHANK BUTTONS Obtainable from the Master of Regalia and you will find button bolts at dressmaker supplies or tailor shops. 9. CLOAK CHAIN This can be a single 6"(16 cm) link attached to each button, or a 12" (32cm) loop, attached to one button only, then looped over its opposite. chain is available at bead supply retailers. such as Michael's, Beadworks, etc.

10. CROSS OF AMALFI The cross consists of four elements, aligned with the front edge of the left front robe, and is 15 ½" (40 cm) in diameter. The centre of the cross is l8" (47cm) from the front neck edge, and 11" (28cm) from the front edge of the robe. See Illustration for angle and shape of arms of the cross. The cross is white. 1. CAPE Black satin (worn over ministerial robes). Length of the cape is 2.0 feet (60 cm) measured from the back neck edge to wrist length.

2. LINING It is lined in white satin

3. COLLAR The collar is lined in white, and is a 1 ½" (4cm) stand-up collar.

4. CLOSURE A large hook-and-eye in the inside neck edge

5. CROSS OF AMALFI Four elements aligned with the left front edge of the cape. It is 15 ½" (40 cm) in diameter. The centre of the cross is 7½" (19 cm) from the neck front edge, and 10" (25 cm) from the left front edge. See illustration in section on Robes for shape of the arms of the cross. The cross is white.

6. CLOAK CHAIN Optional COLLARS OF THE ROBES

Here you see a layout of the Collar of a Robe.

This one is “fully loaded”, leaving lots of space for bands, bars and pips.

You may feel the front of the collar is quite “empty” with Band A stitched so far from the front edge of the collar.

In this case, you could have your tailor begin the Band 4" from the front edge, then have an inch removed from the end when the or is elevated, needing more space for decorations.

RANK OF DESIGNATION ON ROBE COLLAR A member may wear the highest designation for his or her grade or office.

KCs and DCs are issued a large silver star, available from the Master of Regalia. The star is worn on the left chest area of the coat or dress. See page 2, Appendix 2, Regalia & Insignia.
