Subsequently, we have been working very hard Tcollecting new information to make Opti-Rep the optical industry’s “MUST HAVE” tool for all sales departments and their representatives. The need to have an updated list of all Canadian optical retailers is obvious. But this tool offers much more then just a compilation of lists! We are proud of this brand new layout with so much more information then our previous editions. As proposed in the past, we have included the industry’s international optical events as well as the entire Canadian list of optical retailers filtered by province and by city. One of the big additions this year is the compilation of new detailed statistical facts on the Candadian optical retail market. The second important innovation is the classification by store type and by store category, of each and every optical Optical retailstore. This information will simplify the work of sales departments and representatives in determining the needs of their potential clients by being able to profile them in advance. We worked and still work rigorously to continuously update our database and provide the sales teams with the most accurate information. With close to 5,200 stores in the country, the challenge is huge! For those who have purchased this year’s edition again, we thank you and hope this new layout will help you out even more! As for those who are putting their hands on the Opti-Rep for the first time, have fun discovering this tool specifically designed for you. Depuis, nous avons travaillé fort à recueillir de nouvelles D informations pour que l’Opti-Rep devienne un outil INCONTOURNABLE pour les représentants et les départements des ventes. La nécessité d’avoir une liste à jour des détaillants canadiens de l’optique est évidente. Mais cet outil offre bien plus qu’une simple compilation de listes! Nous sommes fiers de cette toute nouvelle présentation qui livre beaucoup plus de renseignements que dans les éditions précédentes. Tel qu’antérieurement, nous avons inclus les événements internationaux de l’industrie de l’optique ainsi que la liste entière des détaillants canadiens de ce domaine, classés par province et par ville. L’un des grands ajouts cette année est la compilation de nouvelles statistiques sur le marché canadien des détaillants en optique. Autre innovation, la classification par type et catégorie de magasins de tous et de chacun des bureaux d’optique. Cette information simplifiera le travail des représentants et des départements des ventes en déterminant les besoins de leurs clients potentiels, sachant d’avance le profil du détaillant. Nous continuons à travailler rigoureusement à mettre à jour nos données sur une base quotidienne et à fournir aux équipes de vente l’information la plus exacte qui soit. With Canada and the United States now thought to be suburban nations, critical suburban histories and studies of suburban problems are an important contribution to urbanistic discourse and human geographical scholarship. Though suburbanization is a global phenomenon and suburbs have a much longer history, the vast scale and explosive pace of suburban development after the Second World War has a powerful influence on how “suburb” and “suburban” are represented and understood. One powerful socio-spatial imaginary is evident in discourses on planning and politics in Toronto: the city-suburb or urban-suburban divide. An important contribution of this dissertation is to trace out how the city-suburban divide and meanings attached to “city” and “suburb” have been integral to the planning and politics that have shaped and continue to shape Scarborough and Toronto. The research employs an investigative approach influenced by Michel Foucault’s critical and effective histories and Bent Flyvbjerg’s methodological guidelines for phronetic social science.

It outlines the Division's 58 completions and approvals in 2020, highlighting a remarkable variety of city building work. The report also provides a forecast for the Division's 2021 Study Work Program. Although this past year has not been business as usual given COVID-19 impacts, the collaborative effort with divisions across the Toronto Public Service, external agencies and community partners enabled City Planning to advance studies and initiatives in support of the City's 2019 Corporate Strategic Plan and its four Strategic Priorities on affordable housing, mobility, quality of life, and climate change and resiliency. These include affordable housing policy and programs, such as inclusionary zoning and Housing Now; new planning frameworks to guide longer term investment and growth, for example, the Golden Mile and Keele Finch Plus secondary plans; zoning initiatives including expanding permissions for outdoor patios to support bars and restaurants as part of Toronto's recovery efforts; environmental initiatives such as the Ravine Implementation Strategy; and guidelines, including the Retail Design Manual, to influence better design and development outcomes across the city.
