PROJECT EXPERIENCE: (a) Ford Foundation Project I directed the implementation of programmes at the Ford Foundation funded Institute for Governance and Development, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, from 2002 to 2004. The Ford Foundation provided a $300,000 grant to the University for the Establishment of the Institute for which I was appointed Director. The project entailed the organization of public lectures, seminars, an international conference, and national conference on “Women and Youth Restiveness in the Niger Delta” and publication and dissemination of relevant information. (b) Open Society Initiative for West Africa Project In 2004 I won a $173,910 research grant from the Open Society Initiative for West Africa in support of the policy related project titled “Community Based Associations and Participatory-Transparent Development in Local Authorities in Edo State, Nigeria”. This was a state-wide study that took us to all eighteen local government areas in Edo State from 2005 to early 2007. The publications from this study are listed under the section on publications.
