About the Business Unit

Presenter Services sits within the Performing Arts pillar is responsible for the planning, sales and event management of activities by all hirers of Arts Centre Melbourne performance venues and public site. The business unit is comprised of venue sales and business development and account management to ensure a central touch point for all clients across all areas of the business. Key outcomes are venue utilisation, planning, ACM invested project support and event delivery to ensure venue activity meets relevant organisation targets and support for event delivery is of high standard and attracts repeat business.

About the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee all venue operations and event Primary Purpose delivery at the Music Bowl (SMMB).

Key Criteria

Relevant event management, production or operations management of large arenas Qualifications or sites

 Ability to deliver a high level of customer service with a pro-active approach to problem-solving  Excellent communication and negotiation skills  Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, including planning and prioritisation  Demonstrated capacity and initiative in the planning and facilitation of events with Experience an ability to manage multiple events simultaneously  Experience in managing venue specific requirements of presenters, ticketing, visitor experience and food and beverage

 Demonstrable initiative and ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small team

 Experience managing scheduling, event delivery, and event management systems  General office work with a strong emphasis on computer usage and occasional Other (i.e. site work including outdoor locations legal or  Required on site for event delivery which includes out of business hours physical)  The position will require occasional manual tasks associated with the management of the venue

Accountabilities

 Oversee the delivery of events at the SMMB  Act as a secondary point of contact for key stakeholders and service providers for each event, ensuring a high level of communication and engagement is provided  Concurrently project-manage a variety of events all at different stages of enquiry, planning, scheduling, and delivery  Provide effective and persuasive leadership of events to achieve seamless and consistently excellent Presenter and Visitor experiences  Understand industry best practice for site management and event delivery

 Develop, implement and co-ordinate operational plans and procedures for all SMMB activities  Action Presenter and stakeholder feedback appropriately for continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities  OH&S Compliance - Comply with all legislative requirements in the State of and the Commonwealth applicable to the work you perform. - Comply with all policies, procedures and guidelines introduced by Arts Centre Melbourne in

the interest of health and safety. - Interpret and implement OH&S regulations to events at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and ensure presenter and contractor compliance.

Decision Making

 Under the direction of the Manager, Sidney Myer Music Bowl the incumbent will be required to make decisions on day to day event management issues and resolve operational problems in consultation where required.  The incumbent will be required to balance the often competing issues and conflicting demands of internal and external stakeholders. The role represents the interests of Arts Centre Melbourne in managing relationships with presenters.  A moderate level of operating autonomy is required and the ability to make tactical decisions within the scope of the project.
